EA Offering Next Gen Madden as low as $9.99 with Current-Gen Purchase

If you have bought (or are buying) a current-gen version of Madden NFL 25, prepare to get a deep discount on the game on next-gen if you want to trade your current version in for the next-gen version of the game.

EA Sports is touting their trade-in $15 Madden offer, which is live on Amazon, Gamestop, Future Shop and Best Buy currently.

It will be interesting to see if sales of current generation Madden are lower than usual, as EA seems very determined to try to boost sales on the current generation consoles right now.

Update: There is a discrepancy in what EA says and what Amazon is offering. While Amazon says the XBox One version can be had for $9.99 but EA claims $15 on the blog article mentioned above. Even more confusing, there is no mention of a deal for PS4 users on Amazon anywhere. We're trying to get some clarification on this!

Update #2: EA tells us all of the retailers are setting their own deals. Right now, Best Buy and Future Shop appear to be the only stores doing a PS3 to PS4 deal. No retailer (as far as we know) is doing cross-company deals (360 to PS4, etc). Each company is doing their own prices, with some appearing as low as $9.99 for a next-gen Madden with the trade-in of a good copy of the current gen game.

Does anyone else see an option to do this for PS4 from Amazon? I only see it for Xbox 360 to XBOne.

Varies by retailer, this is just a consolidated news post from EA promoting the offers. All are doing Xbox One, only Future Shop and Best Buy appear to be doing it for PS3/PS4 also.

Best Buy and Future Shop in Canada are offering a 60$ trade in on current gen Madden 25 towards either XboxOne or PS4 versions when they arrive, so it is almost a straight swap!(except for taxes and stuff)

I was entertaining the Idea of getting this on my 360 but i pre-ordered a PS4, and sold my ps3 on eBay last week!

I guess i'll just sit this one out until November...

Gamestop is doing the same thing for XBOX only though. Buy this gen and upgrade to next gen for $9.99. They have been doing this for awhile now, there are 3 or 4 more games this offer is good on as well.

Since that system doesn't exist, there is no benefit for digital purchasers that I've seen. These are all trade-in offers, why anyone who bought it digitally would be upset because they can't trade in their game now I'm not sure I completely understand. Some of these promotions existed and were publicized before release too.

I feel like I've seen this multiple times over the last week. It isn't news to me. I'm strictly waiting for next-gen gameplay footage beyond that early running demo. I want to see this game in its full element with a crowd, commentary, passing, etc. Thats it for me. Nothin else piques my interest.

Yep I am doing my deal from future shop. I was going to go to eb games but their deal is only $30 credit for current gen madden where future shop & best buy is $60. I even brought it to their attention by showing them the ad from future shop & they wouldn't match the offer. It's their loss.

This is only in the US. In Canada the deal is Current gen Madden gets your $30 toward Next gen Madden

Right now there is actually a rumor that Madden 25 will be the free game launched with the Xbox One in the US.

Currently EU locations get to FIFA and the UK and AU get to choose between FIFA and Forza.

Glad I came back and noticed update #2. My PS3 should be back from repair or replaced, at the latest, by Weds and I'm still on the fence about copping Madden 25 for it. Played it in Best Buys a few times even before it came out and wasn't really feeling it.
Definitely will download the demo when PS3 is back so I will mull the idea of copping the full game but will look for a deal on it if I decide to. If I do, I will remove my PS4 Madden pre-order and find a good upgrade deal for it, instead.
