NBA 2K14 News Post

Zach Timmerman, Producer of NBA 2K14 talks briefly about Dynamic Living rosters, in the latest video. They are looking at updating ALL players, not just big time teams and players. Hopefully they can add players much faster this year.

I'm hoping for a daily (or at least weekly) update on ALL players. It sounds like this is what NBA live is providing, so it would be good if 2k could be close to that!
I saw/read somewhere that the updates should happen at least daily. I just hope it includes transactions/injuries, as those are even more important than hot/cold streaks and more straightforward to pull data for.

Live seems to be doing it in a way that updates could come within the hour of a transaction though. Wish 2K would really push things towards truly live, online, connected, and integrated.

This should be great but it won't because somebody has to do the analysis for it then it will be updated.

2K is talking about it but they are not saying how they will implement it into the game. It can't be done daily because of the late games and teams that don't play so it probably be updated the next day at the earliest.

Another issue I see with it is they are only talking about stats but what about accessories, signings, waived, and shoes?

I'm just waiting to hear how this would work for roster makers or people who don't use 2K's (lack luster) rosters.

What about people who don't have internet connection?

I have a gut feeling it will be a flop this year. I hope Im wrong.

I actually think they should be able to get the STATS portion of the roster right. I am waiting on them to announce someone else will be doing the shoe edits and accessories keeping them up to date. A certain sneaker blog has mentioned something way back about something big in 2K14.

I am not going to hold my breath on the new signings as in free agents that are coming to and from the D-League or from other leagues.

I actually tweeted LD2K and Ronnie about nicekicks today.

Yeah they are holding out on information until their official reveal or insight but I did take notice of in that trailer 2K was showing off the new sneakers in the game as part of the tease. Some of the less obvious stuff was Bledsoe wearing the LeBron X's on Phoenix. That was the sneaker he wore most of the year last season. That is something that 2K traditionally does not get right.

Yeah same for me, i would totally love if there's an option to update your assciation with the real life happennings, you could turn it on or off when u dont want it to be updated cause your season is far ahead of the real life season
I could be an option everytime you load your association to load dynamic rosters or not

You would have to play at real life pace though. I think for the daily rosters this type of update would be best.

I remember them saying sneakers will be huge this year.

I think it was Kicks or Slam having some input this year.

I cant remember.

As long as it doesn't take 6 months to add players, I'll be happy.

There's no excuse for the process to take that long.

Not a word about if this apply to online associations and rosters. Last year updates took ages to be uploaded to online rosters.

# 36 L_Diddy @ 09/03/13 05:19 AM
Will it also update a players tendencies, hotspots and spot up location to what they are doing in real life? That is probably the most important thing to a roster i think.

I want this so bad. It's basically how I tend to play NBA Today games while following my team anyway.

I remember one time in the Live forum, a dev asked a couple of posters about a roster change...they told him, he immediately went in and corrected it and was like "do you guys see it now?"

If this new system can allow devs to do things like this, I am all for it...

I don't think it's the system. It's the dev-- or lack of one that really handles roster updates as a high priority responsibility.

I still don't believe there's an actual Insider. It's probably just the title given to whichever dev happens to be saddled with roster update duties along with his other duties.

Any hope in improved rosters lies with their system needing the "Insider" to do less, not more.
