NBA 2K14 News Post

2K Sports has released the features list, screenshots, and trailers for current-gen NBA 2K14, but the question is, when are we going to get next-gen information?

Other than a brief trailer, we haven't seen much. Ronnie mentioned on Twitter that we'll start seeing next-gen discussion in late September. So, for those that keep asking, there's your answer.

Even though I'm anxious to see and hear more of the next-gen version I understand this move. The E3 teaser still has med hyped and after watching Shadedowns comments on it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUO9zplpjfU) it's got me even more hyped!

Good, cause next-gen is all I'm interested in. I have no desire to play the current gen 2K14.

I agree. Clearly nex gen is the focus and I think this is where 2k and live will start to get into a chess match marketing wise now its going to be some very interesting action which is y I love competition.

Live said they would be dropping 5 on 5 gameplay later in the summer.....well kids are back in school but summer isnt officially over until close to the end of september I think about around the 21 and 2k will bet getting into info around the same time......

Lets get it!

I don't know why, but I'm just not feeling 2k this year like past years. But expect me to get next gen on November 15!

They SHOULD tell us more about both versions or the preorder sales will be low as hell with everybody waiting to know what version to pick ...

As of now all we know is the next gen version will be different and I guess a lot of guys are in the same both as me, waiting to know what version is really worth grabbing, and that's bad for their business.

Either tell us it's the same version with improve graphic's or show us what's different because if we can't decide sales will go down...

what is really strange is EA not taking advantage of 2k silence on next gen. EA should be much more aggressive in promoting Live since they don't care about sales on current gen as 2k is supposed to do

That 15 seconds video of Irving dribbling didn't convince you?

Good to know, after reading the early impressions (more like tidbids) of some OSers about 2K14 demo on current gen, I cant but feel more excited with the prospect of next gen, specially after my "graphics/looks" expectations were surpassed with the early PS4 LBJ trailer.

In the meantime, until late september is here, I would be eagerly awaiting for details about current gen, hopefully this may help me make an educated guess of the direction that this year versions are aiming ... I will buy next gen version but I need to have a clear picture so my expectations dont go overboard, also, so I can fairly compare the competition offer (also awaiting for details, hopefully sooner) and see if it fits my needs/view.

The problem is that the current gen could have a better gameplay and more gamemodes. Also the next gen could have more work invested into it and be tons better.

Credit to 2K's marketing team...they have gotten better and better with communication. I like how trailer have gotten better over the years (this year's was a bit of a let down IMO).
But as for feeding the community info they have made great strides since 2K3.
Lets get some dev insights and send more screen shots. Keep up the good work.

I'm sorry but Live is unreliable at this point. They should have been feeding us info on there game like madden has the last 3 months. I'm sorry but a few quick trailers isn't enough to earn my $65 from me. I have live reserved but I'm losing interest and I may cancel it. I feel that they should work hard to earn back the consumers and not play the angle of "give us an opportunity to win you back".

I was hoping for a bit sooner but I'm patient. I still haven't decided which version I'll get. I'll probably have to wait until they start talking about next-gen before I decide

Agreed they really didn't have to say anything.

Makes sense, with GTA V releasing in less than 3 weeks.

Good to know too.

Hopefully they can be as detailed as they used to back when we had written insights, also hope they show within the video, clips/frames comparing past versions vs 2k14 on what was fixed/added, to aid poeple realize on the efforts being put.

P.S:
Even when your first post (of Vegas thread) may have summarize your impressions, still waiting on a detailed type of comment, hehehe ... hopefully with some emotional words spiced here and there (thus only if deserved) ... and mostly, awaiting for the videos.

I think this year, especially, with Live 14 coming with all this alleged new tech, 2K had to do the prudent thing by getting out more info than ever about their ball game. Either way, I'm glad since now I am a big fan of 2K13 and soon to be 2K14 since 2K abandoned isomotion, and Ilook forward to more info on 2K14, especially next gen.

Oh, as for the trailer, it's status quo for 2K. Always great hype and gets u amped to play it. Personally, it really got me amped this time around like never before even if it's only current gen. PS4 booked for Nov. 15th.

I think it's best for EA to take their time with this one.

Then again, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain at this point. Come out with a decent gameplay video, information about game modes, etc.

The Bouncetek demo was a good start, in my opinion. But to a world of gamers, we want more, we want more. If we really like it, we want more.
