Madden NFL 25 News Post

EA Sports has just posted a trade value analysis blog for Madden NFL 25. See anything you like?

Madden NFL 25 marks a major upgrade in how CPU teams propose and evaluate trade offers. Not only do owners put weight on how a proposed trade may affect their roster, but they also weigh what it could mean for the long-term health of the franchise.

This is exactly the same as Madden 13...

Also, the screenshot showing that the Bengals traded Carlos Dunlap to the Titans is hopefully a user trade... Although the 2nd round price is fair.. It seems teams flip over draft picks way too easily in Madden.

I've chosen to never trade draft picks with CPU teams in my leagues and still seen teams end up with 3 top 10 draft picks and the first overall pick being owned by another team after a draft day trade the year before.

Will the CPU propose trades to humans?

I believe they will. I don't think they did last year though

They did but you had to have a guy on the block for them to do it. They also would put guys on the block as well.

Hopefully it works they way it is intended. I hate when its either too easy or too hard to see trades. Also, I like to see some random lesser names be traded amongst CPU teams.

In addition, I would like to know if the CPU handling of resigning/cutting/drafting players is revamped. I hate seeing teams have a young QB, solid back-up and waste a first round pick on a QB.

I'm just hoping that the CPU team's truly value draft picks.

Last year in one of my online league's one of the users traded Kevin Kolb, the 27 pick in the first round and next year's 5th round pick to Tampa Bay (who has Josh Freeman) for 2nd pick in the draft. Then turned around and traded Calais Campbell and a couple of late round picks for the 6th pick. Those trades killed that league for me.

If a team is looking to trade from the 20's into the Top 10, then I want to see trades like Atlanta and Cleveland (for Julio Jones in 2011).

EA better have fixed the CPU's signing/cutting players logic. It's totally BS that on my 2nd season of CC in week 1 of the regular season, Geno Atkins, one of the best defense lineman in the nfl, is a free agent, but freaking Isaiah Stanback, who is on a new team every year and never makes a teams roster, is on a team.

Jags trade for Foles, why? They have a young QB in Gabbert, they have Henne and Kafka. Then factor they are looking at a top 5 draft pick again.

Why trade for Foles? Since the trade was done, do the Jags now release one of their other QB's? Does the team now build around Foles, bypassing any top QB's in the draft?

Will the team use any top QB's in draft as a bargaining chip to get more draft picks?

Why would the Eagles trade Foles when their Teams Needs list QB as their top need. Doesn't fit the scheme? But Vick is in his 30's and has an injury history.
-------------------------
Wondering about the Ai logic in the draft and if that was been tweaked. As other have stated, seen something that made me say, huh?
------------------------

Ai depth chart logic? Teams usually have a Veteran QB as their #2. Did not see that a lot in '13. Teams has their starter and rookie back-ups.

Ai teams have the MAX number of players for Pre-Season? Would like to know that. Always had starters playing different positions in 2nd half of Pre-Season Games. smh

The cpu proposed trades for players not on the block but it's mainly after the first season. I know this because I received offers for jacquizz Rodgers after I rushed for over 500 yards with him as a back up

I'm pretty sure that was a user initiated trade by the guys over at EA. Ever since Chip Kelly announced Vick would be his starter, for some reason the guys at ESPN were thinking Foles would be traded to a place where he could compete for a job. Chip Kelly quickly denied the rumors.

I'm sure the guys at EA were just using that as an example to take screenshots with and show how everything works.

This is precisely what happened.

"So you’re going to see a better response if you offer a player who fits their needs, even more so if that individual fits their scheme and has plenty of potential."

Hmmkay, and here I thought there was no such thing as potential anymore in Madden...

# 15 Smoke316 @ 08/23/13 01:46 AM
by potential i think they mean potential to be an asset fro the franchise. Not the potential grade itself

Hopefully guys on the block won't be guaranteed to be traded this year. I remember last year if you offered a deal to a team for a player and they rejected it, the team would still always be able move the player to another team. This led to a bit too many trades and player movement because every player on the block ended up getting moved. I'd rather see teams getting stuck with guys and forced to cut them or have them play out their contract and what not.

Most certainly.
