Are we sure it's an official 2k trailer? There is no video in 2ksports website, nor anything else posted on their facebook page. The user that has uploaded the video is Euroleague Basketball ,but maybe they are just using 2k13 with modded teams.

Can anyone confirm that this is indeed 2k14 footage?

It is 2K14. They will prob give you the usual "It is an older build" speech though.

Wich is probably the case anyway.

Was wondering the same. At least the alley oop animations looked like 2k13. I kinda hoped with the guy they brought in for dunk mocap sessions, they would add some less athletic packages, too. But maybe the Euroleague thing was added later and they didn't have enough time to include less flashy packages, don't know...

Something small, that sounds a bit off...The sound of the dunks is the same as swishes.Go to 0.45 or 0.53 and listen for yourself...

It sounds way better to me but that's probably not ingame sounds anyway.

Swish and dunk sounds need a lot of work in 2K. We don't need that broken glass sound effect a la street fighter when a guy dunks the ball. Basketball is a very smooth and quiet game in terms of sounds.

Smooth might not be appropriate to describe it but I can't think of anything else.

Probably an old build with euroleague teams...I can't see any of the new gameplay features in this vid...

Have the 2K guys ever watched a Euroleague game or even watched a top 10 highlight? That double clutch dunk off an alley-oop completely threw me off. There's no point in putting these European teams in, if the gameplay is going to be like that. As someone said earlier, there's more reliance on fundamentals in the European game since the court is smaller and hardly anyone there is a great athlete. There's also different rules as well. The offense isn't allowed as much freedom as they are in the NBA.

I liked the speed with which Ray Allen threw that pass. It really seemed like he snapped his thumbs to give the pass more zip. I liked the block on Lebron when he was going for a layup.

Watching it again, I noticed that the crowd looks just like your typical NBA crowd. European crowds are just like soccer fans of European teams put into basketball stadiums. They have chants, banners and even flares. Where's the colour? Why is there no crowd lighting? It's so dark.

From the YT comments on the video, looks like the Euro fans approve, but it seems 2K missed a trick by not getting in 12-time Serbian champions Partizan Belgrade in the game.

heh I would expect the Euro League teams will have their ratings out of whack much like the classic teams....in essence the teams are just there like stray cats hanging out in your backyard....

All the head above the rim dunks are horrible looking, and the fact that this is just a play now feature made this Euroleague stuff a waste for me. Wish they put these teams in the association and mycareer modes.

it is clear that the first alley oop when i watch it again, can be done by :

- Vince Carter when he was young
- Griffin
- and other good dunker man

but not in europe!! or maybe just one time in 10 years!!

for the 3 pt lign i'm sure it is a euro distance. I hope!!

We have been at this for over 10+ years now, it's time to stop expecting chest passes and 2-3 zones in our basketball trailers...

It's not going to happen.

That said, I have 0 interest in Euroleague basketball, but I do wonder if they'll have terrible ratings like the international teams in NBA Live...

For fans of European basketball, I could probably better understand their displeasure with the dunks in this trailer. At least in NBA flash trailers, we know a lot of the jams featured are being completed by Blake Griffin, Shawn Kemp, Paul George, LeBron James - guys who can feasibly pull that stuff off. I don't know a ton about EuroLeague, but from what others have said (alongside my own inclinations), a lot of the dunks seem to be a little much coming from some of those guys.

Yeah? Ain't that way better than Jay-Z though?

I feel as though the inclusion of a legit D-League would have made better sense for an NBA video game franchise.

It's not that there are no dunkers in the euro game. Some guys have quite a bit of athleticism and strength, but not at the superhuman level of the nba guys. The problem is that because of the court dimensions and the constant use of zone in the euro game, you don't get to see a ton of highlight moments or fast breaks. It's mostly a game of strategy and skill. In fact sometimes euro basketball and nba basketball look like completely different sports.

I think that if the dunk packages are assigned wisely,no monster highlight slams or posterizers every other possesion etc, this mode can turn out pretty nice.

However if the euro rosters are put together casually ,it won't draw the european markets ,in the way 2ksports thinks it will.Even if my hometeam is featured, i'm not sure if i'm excited to play in a faux euro like gameplay.

At least ,if they included a season like mode, where the league system, playoff brackets and the final four would be represented semi-authentically,it would skyrocket the value of adding euroleague teams.

My apologies, my intent was not to say they weren't capable of dunking and whatnot. I was just trying to say the manner with which they were pulling certain dunks off seemed out of place for the reasons you mentioned (court dimensions, tight zone, etc.).

I think I'd actually see some merit to the Euro teams is there was something real and substantial behind them (authentic Euro play, crowds, arenas, atmosphere, tourney) but if it's just normal quick games with Euro skin versions of the basketball, jersey, and courts, it feels a little generic.

I know what your saying. It isn't a smooth sound, but a more swift, to the point type of sound. Dunking the ball in 2k currently sounds like a lingering explosion.
