I can still make it work, but I feel ya. How or why could those old school courts (with the old baskets and no three point line) not make the cut in 2K13?

Well we couldn't use them in 2K12, even though they were in the game. You only had access in Greatest Mode. Seems like it'd be easy to just throw up there as a Presentation option, but maybe it's not since 2K didn't do it.

Yeah, I like to remain open minded about that stuff. A part of me thinks, "Yeesh, could it be that hard?" Then another part of me thinks about there perhaps being some difficulty in carrying over three-pointer-less gameplay to non-Greatest modes. Maybe it was more trouble than we know.

You wouldn't get the cyberfaces, jerseys or courts though.

Exactly. I saw a lot of legend rosters for 2K12 on 360 but the players all looked generic and some had jersey edits it just wasn't the same as the ultimate base roster 2K12 on PC. Great thing about that mod is that the players look changes over the course of the seasons so I could play the 1980 Celtics with bird having his longer hair and then go to the 1990 Celtics for him to have the short hair. The attention to detail in that mod is great aside from the current day logos around the arenas which can't be removed.

This and similar issues surrounding that made for a lot of work as it was told to me. When there I requested this be done but with everything else to do there were much bigger fish to fry at that point in dev for both 2k12 and 2k13.

Remember someone still has to make it happen and something like this touches a lot of code especially when you have different rules that apply like 3 point line etc.

That's what I figured, which is why I didn't put 2K on blast for not giving us the option.

In response to the Barkley posts (I apologize if this has been mentioned)...

Isn't the reason Barkley is so reluctant to license his likeness to the NBA because he takes issue how they handle retired players/benefits of retired players? If this is the case, I can see why he doesn't want to be a part of anything that leads to profits for the NBA but is okay with giving his image for Team USA or working for TNT.

One of the best teams that never won a ring.

For sure. A re-dedication to that aspect of the game would certainly light a fire under me in terms of perhaps moving toward acquiring a next generation console within the next year. 2K's art department seems more than capable of throwing together new teams, court art and jerseys (if their Euro inclusion is any indication) so it feels like it'd be more than possible to cater to current and classic NBA fans.

Being able to play with guys like MJ and Larry Legend with these amazing next gen graphics has me so pumped right now.
