Man, they are really selling this NHL 94 mode as something special aren't they? Oh well. Can't wait to try out the game since the majority of the improvements this year are to gameplay.

sigh..

per usual just getting a 3rd period to play.

Madden 25 Demo, full game, 5 minute quarters.
NCAA 14 Demo, full game, 3 minute quarters.
NHL 14 Demo, a 3rd period, 5 minute period.

hopefully the gameplay improvements are worth while..

Ugh, ridiculous that it's only a 3rd period.

I'm hoping to stream the demo Tuesday night for a few hours so we can see some gameplay improvements.

Why can they not give us a full game? A couple of different teams would be nice too.

Can't agree more. Madden 25 looks amazing from what I saw in the demo. NHL 14 looks amazing as well. I'm pulling for EA SPORTS; things look excellent thus far.

The best thing to ever happen to ea sports was recieving worst company award or whatever it was called. It's been a long while since all the all games across the board look even decent. Today all the games I see from them look special and sports game of the year potential. Kudos to ea sports for stepping there game up literally and showing fans they do have pride and care about making quality products.

Madden seemed like the same crap hole it has been. Lack of awareness from DBs, running is too easy on lower settings. Pocket presence is garbage.

NHL94 LOL.....

Considering we're getting to sample three different modes, which includes starting our HUT squads in the demo, I'm fine with only getting one period of play in Play Now. I think we've become a little too jaded in expecting so much from a demo. It's meant to be a sample, not a full game. NCAA needed to include three matches because it had a lot to prove and even then, the games were stripped of a lot of the bells-and-whistles to allow for that.

I'm just anxious to get my hands on Anniversary mode and to start my team in Ultimate Team.

Also, the trailer was fraking amazing. This makes the pretty awful Madden demo trailer even more of an embarrassment.

So wait- there's going to be a 4 team HUT tournament, that means 4 full games against Halifax, Grand Rapids, Boston, and Chicago, right? Would make the 1 period argument pretty silly.

I believe it'll be like last year where every game starts in the 3rd period.

since i pulled off my Live (after 10 years of being a member, getting PS4 and perhaps X1 in 2 years time) i'll just read the comments in OS if in this demo you'll see all the new features and improvements in the game.

do I need xbox live to download demos?

# 15 ucas005 @ 08/14/13 04:37 PM
When I first heard the demo video music I thought for sure I was going to see Dean'r Youngblood one touch deking through everyone and then squaring up against Racki at center ice.

from what i remember ( i only got silver too) is that Gold Members can download the demo as soon as its up....

Live Silver Member has to wait until a week before the game is going to be out... or something like that

so if you want the demo on "release day" then YES you need gold, if not youll be waiting a week or two

I'm not into hockey but I'm seriously considering picking this game up this year to learn the players and get into the sport.

shadowboxxr- good idea man. It's actually a great sport once you learn the rules and the strategy. Lots of different styles you can play hockey. Not so much in this game, but in real life, each player has a unique skill set that bring something to the team. Then add in changing which players are on which lines, etc, it really can be a fun chess match of matching players vs opponents and strategy.

The eashl is one of the best game modes out there. I played nhl 12 yet. Skipped 13 and waiting anxiously for this game.

But that was the best part. Well, at least 17 seconds of it.

This may sound a litle out there but conisder joining an NHL fantasy pool. You'll wind up with East and West players. Games you wouldn't otherwise watch will be interesting. You'll keep stats of league leaders for free agency pickups and trades. You'll watch highlights to see how goalies handle themselves in tough games, etc.
If you can find a fairly inexpensive one with friends it's a GREAT way to get to know teams & players and add a bit to non local team games.
I'm a big hockey guy but did a fnasty draft last year and MAN was it more fun having more interest in the ENTIRE league and not just my local team and the rivals.

If you're an online gamer you'll likely just jump into EASHL and learn nothing of NHL players themselves.

Just a 2 cents.
