WWE 2K14 - 30 Years of Wrestlemania Mode Preview

2K Games has announced the single player mode for WWE 2K14, the concept is 30 Years of WrestleMania. This mode will player going through the greatest matches and unforgettable moments in WrestleMania History.

Speaking to Triple H about this mode he stated, "I'm excited for this, to be partnered with 2K, the future is very bright for this franchise". There will be around 45 matches through the mode, and 3 have already been announced. Those matches are:

Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant - WrestleMania 3
The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan - WrestleMania 18
The Rock vs. John Cena - WrestleMania 28

Sounds pretty cool. I hope that we get some news on A.I improvements soon but this is definitely pretty cool.

No progress. Why do WWE games always live in the past. What about interactive Universe mode with promos and storylines built in with real interactivity. Anyway, this is old ground. I'm sure another WWE game did something similar.

Sounds like this mode is going to be awesome. But was hoping they would announce some kind of Career mode or something. Since 2k is in charge of it now. But this is a cool mode tho. Can't wait until they reveal the full roster this coming weekend. Good write up Extreme. Looking forward to more info in the coming weeks a head about the game.

If we can have more or less last years roster plus:
Hulk Hogan (obviously confirmed)
Goldberg
Scott Hall / Razor Ramon
Diesel / Kevin Nash
Kurt Angle

Then I would be stoked!
Just pre-ordered the game

I can pretty much guarantee that Bret Hart vs Stone Cold will be another match in this mode. Probably the best wrestlemania match ever.

You're probably going to be waiting 14 months for that career mode.

August 17th will be official roster reveal

This sounds pretty cool. The only thing though is that the AI has to be improved in order for this mode to mean anything. We are all sick and tired of winning every match with ease. We want a challenge!

It's still THQ's game essentially. Have to keep the expectations low or else there will be a flooding of complaint threads in a few days when this didn't get in and that didn't get in.

So from the guys we've seen and have been rumored to be in the game, I think it's safe to say what the matches will be:

Ultimate Warrior vs Hulk Hogan. WM 6, Mainly for the look/costume they gave Warrior.

Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat-WM 3 (or could be Savage/Hogan-WM 5), Mainly for the look/costume they gave Savage.

Something I had asked for a long time ago on the 2K Forums was something I titled "The Wrestlemania Experience." It was sort of similar to this but one of the things I had asked for was authentic arenas. I'm big on aesthetics and I sort of have an OCD for things like this. If a Wrestlemania is in a stadium, they should be in a stadium. It looks like I may have gotten my request. If you look at the picture of Hogan/Rock, look how deep back that crowd goes. Could just be me stretching a bit, but it looks promising. I want the full Wrestlemania experience, arenas/stadiums included.

Well, since Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage are in the game, you've got figure their Wrestlemania VII match will be in there, as will Steamboat-Savage from Wrestlemania III.

I'm very much looking forward to this mode. I thought last year's Attitude Era was a great addition to the franchise.

I think we can all expect a ton of Undertaker Matches. At least the one vs Shawn Michaels and one (or both) against Trips.

Hogan has a clause in his TNA contract that allows him to sign separate marketing deals and I believe he owns his own likeness [similar to Michael Jordan in the NBA]. Those stipulations are what allows him to be in a competing company's product. Sucks that we likely miss out on the Dudley Boys, Hardy Boyz and Kurt Angle for this mode.
