At E3 I got a chance to take a look at NCAA Football's progress in the EA booth. I got full hands on time with the game and was allowed a lot of access to EA's NCAA Football franchise. From what I could tell, the franchise has come a long way in just a year's time.

Chris did you get a chance to look at "play a season mode"? Does it have a different interface than Dynasty?

Thanks

So what I get out of this is that I can finally leave the headache of online league scheduling alone and return to offline chising?

Alright alright alright! That Army option will be something to look out for.... hooah!

I don't read the boards much anymore so I was wondering if someone could fill me in on the comment about removing S running. Is that purposly being removed? Its the only way to change directions while trying not to loose speed and momentum. Vs planting and cutting. I thought that was one thing EA always captured well.

Still waiting for anyone to tell me if there is any penalties called in the game. For the last few years, there was no PI ever called.

I don't know which video it was but I did see one penalty called and it was clipping I think.

And do you think it's realistic to change directions without losing (not loosing) speed and momentum?

Great to hear that bubble screens actually work this year!

Great impressions. My excitement for the NCAA release has lessened every year since this gen hit and I've found myself playing each game less and less. Hopefully, NCAA 14 can bring it this year and I'll be able to play it until 2014 actually hits, instead of October.

any chance you went into edit player and see if they finally allow us to assign duplicate numbers?

Hopefully there isn't any freezing issues like the last 2 games, I hate having to rush to get highlights from the game before it freezes

depends on the degree of direction change. slight changes or trying to turn a corner while sprinting has to be done in an arc. to make sharp or abrupt direction changes is done with stutter steps, jukes, planting ect. its situational. its one reason QBs can step up into the pocket at times to avoid a sack (real life) hen a DE or LB comes of the edge at full tilt turn the corner toward the QB its (usually) an arcing path. I figure it was causing abuse online or something couldn't figure out why they wanted to eliminate. years ago titles like gameday and others were held back because they didn't have it, their players moved in zigzag angles, no momentum even a full speed. but anyway forget I asked

but to answer your question yes, changing directions can be done without loosing speed or momentum if done in a sweeping arc. drastic or sharp changes of direction should loose both speed and momentum. this separated big backs from slashers and guys who can accelerate after a direction change (barry sanders) there were lots of guys as fast as him but few could accelerate like him after a cut or footplant

This preview has me interested in this game. Been so disappointed the last couple years that I had pretty much given up hope in this game. We'll see how I feel about the demo tomorrow before I truly get excited. Have to keep expectations down.

Well its not allowed in real life anymore. They changed the rule this year, multiple players cannot wear the same number.

What about qb accuracy? Is it more realistic? Last year they were too accurate. Also,13's passing game was too wide open. What about the wr and db interaction? Thanks

Its not BS and it was spread by the NCAA Oversight Panel. Also, it used to be as long as two players with the same number were not on the field at the same time, it was ok.

from the link above, these are the rule changes for this year:

- Multiple players from the same team can't wear the same number.
