Check out the latest Madden NFL 25 playbook, Defensive Control, highlighting the game’s enhancements on the other side of the ball that fans can expect to see in the latest installment of the game. The video features San Francisco 49er NaVorro Bowman and showcases defensive game improvements, including more realistic momentum transfers, the most impressive hits yet, improved pursuit angles, as well as new dive and lunge tackles and heat seeker tackling.
I watched the video again, at 1:06 there is a "cleanup hit" it is quick, but it is there - now the only thing is that we are watching a trailer - meaning we have no idea if the hit was administered by the CPU or a user, or for that matter if these trailers are even made from actual gameplay to start with...
I saw nothing new in this trailer....in fact outside of new buzz words (heat seekers) I'm not close to being impressed. I hope the next gen Madden actually has something impressive to offer. This is shaping up to be more of the same.
Ha, always the glass half full guy! I'm out on this Gen, last year was it for me boarding the hype train. Based on this video and some of the other trailers, there are two ways M25 will play out. People that purchase the PS3/Xbox360 version are going to feel cheated once they unveil the next Gen M25, or people that purchase both versions are going to feel cheated. With Kolbe getting almost two cycles to work on the next Gen version, these videos and the marketing for this Gen has led me to believe EA has moved on.
Referencing the blocking video and the amount of new animations gives me flashbacks to last year where I believe they marketed "over 430 new catching animations"- which was completely false.

As compared to a glass half empty kind of a guy, lol.
If you didn't know by now, I've been hammering away at 13 since November, since that was the last time it was in the tray.
We'll just need to see at E3.
The trailers so far have been meh to me, but I was perked up by that new thread.
Another thing I noticed with the ball carriers this year is they don't really turn their heads much. They either have it down or they or looking straight ahead. In most of those clips the ball carrier wasn't even looking at who was tackling them.
Just imagine how much nicer it'd be if we had NBA 2k like controls to this game. As a D Linemen, Left stick moves the player, right stick controls hand moves to get around the O Line, Hold the L2 down with the right stick to tackle, hold L2+R2 with the right stick to go for a big hit.
Works for everything, as a RB, left stick moves the guy, right stick controls your stiff arm/ hands, L2 + right stick controls your jukes, L2+R2 + right stick does power moves, R2 controls your burst of speed.
Think of how much nicer it'd be if the players moved like the guys in NBA 2k and we had the advance controls that game offers, but for a football game.
I liked what I saw in the trailer. Hit stick still looked a little off, but I just want to see Connected Franchise info first (Monday unless EA postpones it again) and unedited gameplay to see the game as a whole (probably not until E3.)
Did I see some engaged player mobility? At 1:12, Rams #79 against 49ers defender. It's not lateral but that's the farthest I've seen engaged players travel. Encouraging. Hopefully that can happen laterally (contain & maintaining outside leverage) and the other way up the field (pass rushing / pocket formation).
The angles & speed make it hard to analyze, but overall, I like the vid.
I noticed that too and thought the same thing. I am intrigued by it being in but lateral movement is the important one, and I didn't see it. Instead I saw lbs just trying to get to far side of the offensive tackle before the rb did. Race to the edge as usual. I also really didn't like the JJ Watt, no look tackle. That was ugly me.
1 step forward, 2 back. I'm waiting on next gen or an open license.
