Madden NFL 25 News Post

According to Shopmaster at MyMaddenPad, not only will we see sideline and back of the endzone interceptions, we will also see a slight change in the way the camera rotates after interceptions.

GoMadden has posted the differences between NCAA Football 13 and Madden NFL 13 interceptions and the way the camera is handled. As you notice, in Madden NFL 13, there is a pause or freeze in the action as a pass is intercepted, then the camera rotates. In NCAA Football 13, there is no pause. Madden NFL 25 will go the non-pause route.

UPDATE: Shopmaster chatted with the developers and let me know that the screen does in fact freeze, during interceptions. It may have been the build he played, sorry for any confusion.

What are your thoughts on this?

Glad to see they finally changed the way it rotated the camera instantly after ints. You barely beat me to this Steve lol

Looking forward to seeing this rotation in action. I hope to hear something about jostling as well.

I saw interceptions where the DB couldn’t get two feet down, but he caught the ball. I saw reaching interception, interceptions where DBs broke on the ball and intercepted it and their momentum carried them out-of-bounds. I even saw some interceptions in the back of the endzone where guys toe tapped it.
I like this in particular. As for the subtle camera change rather than instant, the only thing that worries me is that if it's too subtle, you get the pick, start running one way, then it changes and then you're holding the stick in the opposite direction you are running which could be a real frustrating issue.

Shopmaster just said it's similar to how NCAA Football does it.

Ok, so it's more like how NCAA does their interceptions. Just instant control; which is why I started running the wrong way.

Do the sideline players/coaches interact with the player going out of bounds? Or do they just look straight ahead and clap in unison. C'mon, it's 2013......

I just watched this video (picked off at 3:19) from NCAA and it seems exactly like M13 to me.

I'm guessing the freeze part has been removed, but I asked him for clarification.

Shop says it's more like this.

That was from the demo. Looks like it was sped up in the retail copy. Check out 1:18 of this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3t66fI7z_0#!

EDIT: Same video as above.

I definitely think I'll like it better that the game doesn't completely stop for a second. Probably won't feel much different but I'll be interested to see how it feels.

Nice addition, but sometimes I gotta laugh that this is just being added in the last real edition on current gen. Nevertheless, good stuff. Interested to see this in action.

Cool always wondered why you couldn't do that

Thanx, I meant the sideline and back of the endzone interceptions though. I couldn't care less about how the screen rotates.

Is there ever a situation where the defender falls down after making an interception? I don't recall ever seeing it in M13. I remember a couple of diving ones that I threw and had but nothing like the receivers do where they catch and go to the ground as a result. That's something I'd like to see.

Yes, I've seen that happen and there's the one where they "trust fall" on their backs, but that's usually with D Lineman.

The fact that it took this long for this to be added shows how much they care

It hasn't been that long since Madden 13. I'm sorry but I don't judge this team under Cam Weber based on what happened from Madden 06-now. I only judge them based on what happens from Madden 13 and now on. Just know that I'll be judging very harshly and letting them know every time I see something not up to par with where it should be.

Ahh. Digging the new interceptions improvements. The screen rotation may actually irk me. I liked the screen freeze to get my mind ready prior to my next move post interception but didn't they have that before? Eh. Whatever.

# 19 Only1LT @ 05/13/13 06:14 PM
It would be much more exciting if they actually had a real defensive camera as opposed to playing defense from the offense's perspective, which would negate the need to have to rotate the screen in the first place.

Clearly Cousins is at QB because RGIII doesn't throw interceptions....
