NBA Live 13 News Post

If you happen to live in the Vancouver area, you could get the first look at EA's new NBA project -- all you have to do is complete a short survey. The survey asks simple questions: but what is interesting is that it asks users a lot about NBA 2K as well which could indicate this is a simulation basketball project.

Could EA be looking for a focus group of sorts to test out their simulation basketball answer to NBA 2K? Even more importantly, why is the game being shown off in Vancouver after it was apparently moved to Orlando last year? What in the world is going on here? Is this another game like an NBA Jam? Most likely EA won't reveal much this time around until much closer to release to avoid any possible momentum loss this time around. [NLSC]

What do you guys think EA is working on?

The college videogame market is so small it makes no economic sense to even attempt to make another title.
haha yeah you're exactly right. i admittedly got caught up
in the moment it being the national championship and all.

I just feel like college basketball grows in popularity year by year, but I overestimate interest cause i only hear from like minded folk.

Come on, I know this isn't a full-time professional site, but a simple EA Playtesting google search will see that. They focus test all sorts of games there, it's one of the many perks of having an international company.
Correct. They tested Live 13 in Vancouver several times last year.

Everything seems to be centered around 2K here.

Granted that's the only competition and a phenomenal product both in terms of sports gaming and basketball but I would like to see EA try and work up a brand new formula rather than "compare" with 2K's offering.

Having said all this, I would love to see a new street game.

Honestly I'm ready for NBA LIVE to return. I like 2k but I like to switch games every now and then.

I agree. I LOVE 2K, but I would love to have another SOLID game. Be it EA, Sony, Konami or the next door neighbour, just let us have another (good) game.

Looking at the survey itself, it talks about other EA games too, so to me this doesn't say anything, but I could definitely be wrong.

The link to the survey is just where you sign up for the "New NBA Concept" testing sessions. There were other things in the email to test for, and other surveys, like Fifa and NHL ultimate team.

hopefully ea gave lebron his wish and we have a "lebron james basketball 14"

# 29 Majingir @ 04/10/13 02:20 PM
EA should just accept that 2K is better basketball game and just focus more on fixing NHL!

^^ The only logical answer to any EA developers/players/fans posting something like this should be: 5-minute Gameplay videos, or it never happened.

I think this is a great idea! Have any of you been selected to be one of the playtesters for NBA LIVE 14?

NBA Street v4. Launch title for the next Gen and released or the current gen. Plz.... NBA Live 14, NBA 2K14 or NBA Street v4. I think I'll buy Street and 2K if those are my options

Edited my post stupid send Tapatalk button.

Also, based on what I've been seeing in the past 2 years, old EA BIG games/arcade are coming back slowly. (Ex. SSX, NFL Blitz)

Actually, I would be kinda excited.

This could be the return of Street. Last year, SSX and FIFA Street came back, who developed those games? EA Canada.

Yeah, they should make NBA Street V4 and just have it come with NBA LIVE 14! Just like how NBA Jam was going to come with NBA Elite 11!
