We've captured some MLB 2K13 screenshots from the video, right here.

The Perfect Game Challenge returns again this year for MLB 2K13, but it will be a little different. 2K Sports will give away $25,000 for the perfect game, per team (based off of their scoring system, which includes strength of opponent, rating of pitcher and number of strikeouts).

The top four qualifiers with the highest score will head to New York during All-Star week and battle it out for $250,000.

Still no word on any new features for MLB 2K13 and there isn't much time left, since the game releases on March 5th, almost 3 weeks away.

I like that more. It's better that many people get a lot of money than one person getting a lottery figure.

A couple of quick clips in the beginning as well. Nothing surprising to see in terms of what would have/would have not changed, but it's just good to see that stuff might be popping up soon!

The colors still look like crap. Pass.

Well, I see they used mostly day-game footage for those quick highlights at the beginning. Day games were pretty much the only time that 2k12 player graphics looked tolerable. Skin tone in particular. I'm praying that night games have improved at least somewhat. I'm not a fan of that odd orange glow and serious lack of detail we saw from non-white players last year.

But this thread is exactly why they don't need to take time releasing videos of gameplay. All it does is provide a platform for people predisposed to complain, that weren't buying anyway, to rag on the game.
Hes not saying that they shouldn't market it but lets be honest here

2k should focus on improving the graphics and hitting rather then coming out every single year saying here " perfect challenge for 60 bucks "

hitting?
the control stick hitting and control stick pitching are 2 things that 2k does really well.

Classic 2K marketing. The game has to be gold by now, yet the only screen shots we have yet to see are from youtube captures.

I don't usually miss a MLB release but at this point it is literally looking like a 2K12 roster update at best. I didn't want to believe it but it is looking more and more like the case. Last year I was happy to buy in because it felt like you were there to witness the end of an era - like CH2K8 or NFL2K5. Now it just feels like a feeble, comeback from retirement.

The way the contact hitting is it could use improvements i want to be able to hit some HR's with it and hit some line drives instead of hitting it in the IF OF glove

Honestly, did anyone really expect more? This is the end of the console generation. They aren't going to put a significant effort into this game. And they didn't have any time to do it anyway.

At this point they are cutting their losses and either gearing up for next-gen or packing it in for good.

And for those who say they should just give up, that's ridiculous. We all bitch about sports games disappearing and we want the game to go away? We should keep demanding improvement not telling them to stop making the game.

Great point. People that say that are obviously partisan. They are so far along in their disdain that the game actually doing well would get them upset.

If the info posted shows us anything, it says they are at least not just rerunning the $1M thing and running the game through its cycle. I know the company can make this game strong. stopping now would be silly.

I'd be willing to give the game another chance if they dropped the price to maybe $29.99. Hell it worked for NFL 2K and NHL 2K back in the PS2/Xbox days.

sometimes i think that if there wasn't this perfect game challenge nobody would buy this on ps3

Honestly I think I have narrowed my frustrations with this franchise down to this: I am not really mad at the game itself, I enjoy it and play it extensively. My anger is towards that (Bleep)'ing ronnie. THAT guy angers me more than I think anyone simply because its HIS job to promote and generate excitement and give info about this game. He is supposed to be our ramone russel if you will and he is flat out TERRIBLE. Whats more is that he does a serviceable job with NBA info and excitment but this dude does NOTHING for MLB but put out these dull random tweets about stuff that MAY or MAY not be forthcoming. I swear there is a HUGE cage at my work I would love to lock myself in with ronnie for a good 5 mins.

that last tweet has now been deleted, I wonder why....

How sloppy can they get before we stop giving them our money?

Give him a break BlackBetty (EPIC tune, BTW).
Ronnie's very busy promoting many other 2K sports titles such as NHL, Hoops, NFL,... oops.

Don't be so sure. I know a few people that bought 2K11 and 2K12 for the PS3 and I'll be getting 2K13 for the PS3 as well (it's my primary console).

There aren't many of us, but there are a few.

They definitely need to put out a game that is quality. No excuses at all. They were given an excuse on the game's first showing this gen, then it was because beloved Ben Brinkman was in his first year, then it was because Ben Brinkman was gone..then it was because it was VC's first year with the game.

2K just didn't have a good series with MLB this gen. No excuses at all.

Yeah they pretty much apply. Yes, the game has been mediocre for the last 3 years, but did you really think they were gonna go all out for 2k13 when development resumed sometime in Oct. Do you have any idea how long it takes to make wholesale changes in games? So again, why would they waste large amounts of time and effort on MLB 2K13 on a lame duck console generation?

Not excuses, just reality.

# 20 tvman @ 02/12/13 05:29 PM
That's a bunch of bull.

I'll take 2k'S organic "unscripted" gameplay even with the bugs over some glossy "scripted" game any day of the week!
