NCAA FOOTBALL COVER VOTE ANNOUNCES EIGHT FINALISTS

Potential Cover Athletes to be Revealed in the Next Week

Today, EA SPORTS announced the eight finalists for the NCAA Football Cover Vote. Alabama carried over its momentum from last round, once again securing the most support and leading the way with more than 60,000 votes. Michigan and Texas A&M have closed the gap however, as voting went down to the final minutes to determine who would take the top spot. With more than 1.7 million votes cast so far across both the primary poll as well as the smaller secondary polls, college football fans have shown tremendous devotion to their favorite teams and that passion will only intensify as the stakes get higher with the final goal in sight.

Voting for the next round begins today on the NCAA Football Facebook page, in an effort to trim the eight schools to four. Vote totals have been reset, so fans can’t rest now as their teams edge closer to taking it all.

Below are the schools advancing into the round of eight:

School
  • Alabama
  • Texas A&M
  • Michigan
  • Ohio State
  • Oregon
  • Notre Dame
  • Georgia
  • Florida State
In the coming week EA SPORTS will begin announcing the athletes which will be representing their respective schools on Facebook. Fans should check back daily as the biggest names in college football are unveiled, all in the hopes of securing the cover for their alma mater. Athlete-specific voting will begin on Monday, February 4th and continue until Monday, February 18th, at which point the field will be cut to four.

Can we just give Alabama the cover and call it a day?

How did Nebraska not get in the top 8? It had more votes than Georgia, ND, FSU and Oregon.

The only reason A&M is in the top 8 is because of Manziel, too bad people don't realize he can't be on the cover lol.

Penn State could have had 2 million votes last round and I bet they still would have gotten cut. No way the NCAA would have allowed that.

Because the fan vote never really mattered in the grand scheme of things.

Michigan should be on the cover because of the tradition, success, and because we do have the most wins of all time and 3 Heisman Trophy winners.

Pretty sure EA has had it decided who was going to be on the cover from the get-go.

I agree. The only reason they put the vote out is because it will be an Alabama cover. So when asked why Alabama for the 2nd time in 3 years they can say the fans voted for it.

I've got an idea. How about we honor Pat Tillman and put him on the cover of NCAA in his Arizona State uni, then Madden in his Cardinals one. That would be sweet, and probably have legit meaning.

Rutgers Eric LeGrande would be a sweet one as well.

according to facebook voting page on the 21st Alabama was in first by a landslide followed by texas a&m and michigan in third, so ya... just might as well give it to the Sabanators down south.......

Maybe they can do a Michigan one pre 1970s...you know when they racked up all those wins!!

The "smaller secondary poll" a.k.a. who EA wants to put on the cover...Fix the gameplay, update the uniforms, and just make the game overall better before worrying about who is on the cover.

oh okay, having said we have been more successful from the 80's on when we actually had competition so why even bring up the seventies?

You are right Bo years should be included. Still racked up the wins a long time ago, 1 NC since what 1948?
