NCAA Football 14 News Post

The Alabama Crimson Tide led all schools in voting during the most recent round of the NCAA Football Cover Vote. With nearly 10,000 more votes than its nearest competitor, Alabama proved just as dominant in the Cover Vote as it did in the BCS National Championship Game, taking the number one overall slot and positioning itself strongly heading into the next round.

The Crimson Tide jumped from 17th last round to first, showing impressive fan support as they move one step closer to securing the cover. Voting for the round of eight opens tomorrow on the NCAA Football Facebook page, and fans are encouraged to continue supporting their favorite school. Vote totals have reset, so it’s anyone’s race. Will Navy continue to shock the polls with their continued support, or will they fall behind against some of the nation’s biggest powerhouses?

Below are the schools advancing into the round of 16:

The NCAA Football Cover Vote has tallied more than 1.2 million votes to date. Third round voting will continue until January 22nd, and potential cover athletes from the final eight schools will be unveiled from January 23rd through February 3rd. Cover athlete-specific voting will begin on Monday, February 4th.

Alabama is #1 in this vote?

Never would have guessed that would happen in a million years.....

EA should have just given Alabama the cover without all this voting, there's no chance they lose this.

Anyone know why they don't have multiple covers? It wouldn't impact my buying decision, but I bet there are some folks out there that might be swayed by the cover athlete.

They could have done 4 different covers for the final four. But honestly it's what's on the disc I care about. Rather them focus on the gameplay an presentation than cover art.

Georgia Tech is out guesses I'll vote FSU now. No point with where Bama is at though.

It'd be interesting to see how EA would handle a possible Penn State cover.

Does it matter that much?We can make our own covers anyways.

I am with you....and have asked this question for years. But obvioulsy it matters to some as it has always been a big deal. And in recent years has become even bigger with these votes.

I have a strong feeling that even if Penn State "wins", they won't actually win. The NCAA would be furious if they were on the cover of their only video game a year after they hit them with their sanctions.

The winners don't seem to match up with how the voting was going.

Well, you see, each member of the EA Marketing team gets 100,000 votes that are not reflected on the Facebook polls.

This. I know you are a UL fan but UK was doing well in both rounds...I'm shocked just now to see we are not in the Final 16. Definitely some rigged BS.

Bama is going to win anyways but it would have been cool to make the Final 8 at least.

nice rant. this is the part that stood out to me:

Why can't they make the field bigger? I would like to run a stretch play and have the opportunity to cut back but the field is so small you never have a chance to cut back against the grain. When you through the bubble screen you are basically walking a tight rope. You have a small window to make a defender miss with the chance of getting up field to run. But most likely if you don't get tackle right away you will just automatically run out of bounds because of the dumb animation. Field size makes you field like you are playing in an post office (if it fits it ships) box
simply put, this is why i am still playing last-gen NCAA games. the field feels like an ocean and i love that. current-gen NCAA games is like phone booth football on ice skates! EA NCAA football video games have devolved ever since NCAA 08 came out for original xbox. (even before that with the amount of bugs in 08) but that game still was fun to play and had that big field feel even with all the bugs. from that point on the PS2 games fizzled out and we made this jump (if you can call it that) to next-gen, which was supposed to be a whole new level of sports gaming. yet i remember when i played NCAA 07 on 360 for the first time. i was expecting something so great, yet i got something clunky and with less features and polish then the ps2 version.

If Notre Dame wins this cover vote, can we put Teo's "girlfriend" on the cover? I hear she is drop dead gorgeous. Oh wait.
