BOBBY JONES, BUBBA WATSON TO ADORN COVER OF
TIGER WOODS PGA TOUR 14: THE MASTERS HISTORIC EDITION

Game will feature Bobby Jones, Augusta National Golf Club in 1934

Past and present will unite when Bobby Jones and Bubba Watson are featured on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14: The Masters Historic Edition when it is released next year.

Bobby Jones was the dominant force in the game of golf from the early 1920s through 1930. Between 1923 and 1930, he won 13 of the 21 major championships he entered, including the Grand Slam in 1930. His record includes five U.S. Amateur Championships, one British Amateur Championship, four U.S. Open Championships and three British Open Championships.

Jones retired from golf after his Grand Slam year at the age of 28. Soon thereafter, he partnered with Clifford Roberts to realize his dream of building his ideal golf course. By 1933, Augusta National Golf Club held its formal opening. Then, as a way to provide a service to golf by hosting a tournament, Jones and Roberts decided to hold an annual event in 1934. The name Augusta National Invitation Tournament was adopted and the title was used for five years until 1939 when the name was officially changed to the Masters Tournament.

Among its many unique offerings, The Masters Historic Edition will not only feature Jones as a playable character, but it will also allow users the ability to play Augusta National Golf Club in 1934, plus 24 additional championship courses.

Jones will share the cover with Watson, who won his first Green Jacket this past April. Watson’s high, hooking wedge from the trees right of No. 10 fairway allowed him to make par and win on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff.

Both players have cemented their legendary status in the world of golf and will join more than 25 professional golfers as playable characters including Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer, in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14.

Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer will be on the cover of the standard edition of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 as announced last month.

EA SPORTS will also be revealing a unique European version of the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 box art in the near future.

I'm sold.

Being able to play as Jones AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER?! Unreal.

We get 25 courses straight out the box for 70 bucks along with 1934 Masters course and Bobby Jones and Arnold freakin Palmer. We haven't even gotten any word on core game improvements and changes to Country Clubs or any new liscencing agreements. This will hold me over nicely until GTA V drops. Bravo EA, Bravo.

I always hate you this time of year! Always got the scoop, but can't share. I am already fired up for this game and you are telling me it gets better. Jeez, this should be good.

Regular Version had Tiger, and Arnold Palmer on the cover.

The Historic Edition has Bobby Jones, and Bubba Watson on the cover.

They have also said that there will be a European cover which I could only assume it will be a current European player, and a European Legend. My guess would be that Rory McIlroy will share the cover with Seve Ballesteros maybe.

The Historic Master Edition already has my money and Best Buy will get my money because of the Pre-Order Jack Nicklaus that you get with the purchase. Everything else will just be icing on the cake.

Trust me, it is no fun having the info and not being able to share it yet.....

Let's wait and see on this. I recall when they last had Palmer in the game he definitely had his distinct swing. I think Nicklaus and the other legends did as well. Also, I recall seeing a tidbit somewhere that made me believe they may be including customizable swings this year, at least to some degree. Might be pure speculation but I'm hopeful...

I hate being put on the spot as all I have is my opinion based upon 4 full days with the game. On top of that, what we played was not final code, but it was remarkably stable. I will say this though.....after playing 14 for 4 days, I can't even play 13 anymore and that version was the one I have played the most of all the console versions. I "think" you will like the changes as they have really worked the gameplay components, especially on the sim side of things. 14 was by far the most challenging Tiger I have played and I was told they were going to tweak the challenge even more based upon our feedback.

Hear this every damn year about every EA Sports game....this is the year...sim gets it due. I hope you are the real deal but I'm not buying it sight unseen.

You did not hear it from me last year as I could not attend the TW 13 Community Day. I did this year. When you hear and see what's in store, you might just change your mind. I respect the skepticism....

I just hope the career mode is improved, and overall gameplay replicates the sport properly.

Looking back at all of the majors, and watching the leaderboards change every day, that was so exciting. Will this franchise finally make playing a tournament exciting?

That's all I'm asking for as well. The gameplay is always fun for me, but playing tournaments and career mode just seems like it's always lacking the extra something to make it great. That's where I spend most of my time, and I pretty much wasted money on Tiger 13. I didn't play it nearly enough, but maybe I will get it back out in the near future.

I'm excited to see more revealed when it comes to Tiger 14.
