GOLF LEGEND ARNOLD PALMER MAKES FIRST-EVER APPEARANCE
ON THE COVER OF TIGER WOODS PGA TOUR 14

New PGA TOUR and LPGA Golfers Also Make Their Debut In Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Franchise

In a historic celebration of the world of golf, Arnold Palmer, “the King,” makes his first appearance alongside Tiger Woods on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14. Palmer’s professional career spanned five decades and the box art image is taken from his most prolific years during the 1960’s. Among his many accomplishments, he recorded 92 professional victories during his career with 62 occurring on the PGA TOUR. Included in the total are seven major championships including four Masters, one U.S. Open and two Open Championships. Palmer also has a history with the video game franchise as he was included in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 05 and 06.

Woods has a rich history with the golf icon as he has won the Arnold Palmer Invitational seven times, most recently in 2012 and he has 74 PGA TOUR career wins, second on the all-time list.

Joining legendary golfers, Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer, as playable characters are a quartet of young rising stars from the PGA TOUR and LPGA. Making their debut in the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR franchise, Keegan Bradley, Bud Cauley, Stacy Lewis and Lexi Thompson will round out a roster of more than 25 professional golfers set to tee off in the upcoming title.

Bradley has won three PGA TOUR events, most notably the 2011 PGA Championship and is one of only three golfers to win in his major debut. He was also named the 2011 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year and was a member of the 2012 US Ryder Cup team.

Cauley just completed his second professional season and is considered one of the up-and-coming American golfers on the PGA TOUR. The former University of Alabama golfer was a member of the 2009 U.S. Walker Cup team and had six top-10 finishes this season.

The LPGA’s #1 ranked American golfer, and recently named Player of the Year, Lewis, has five professional career wins including a major as her first official professional victory, came at the 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship. With four LPGA victories this season, 2012 has been a breakout season for Lewis.

In 2011, Thompson won her first LPGA tournament at the Navistar LPGA Classic at the age of 16. She was also the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open as a 12-year old.

EA SPORTS will also be revealing a unique Europe version of the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 box art coming soon.

Pretty sweet. However, is Palmer really going to be the only legend?

Now let's hope the game itself doesn't suck.

You've gotta think our (european) cover will have Seve Ballesteros on instead of Palmer.

Either that or it's Rory McIlroy instead of Tiger Woods

Great Choice by EA

Does this mean Bay Hill is back in the game?

Looks like the Tiger drama has blown over. It seems every year when this game releases they just keep adding new golfers and not many features to keep me interested.

Golf games really haven't blown me away on this Gen, hope that changes on the next wave of consoles.

I wonder about this too. Hope it makes it back in. One of my favorite courses from the Tiger 2006-2010 era.

Also, no Masters this year??? Usually it is somewhere on the cover saying the Masters is in. Plus will there be a collector's edition?? Since the case says there will be 20 courses included, the number usually in collector editions.

For real man...?

So many assumptions on a game that hasn't even released 95% of their information... And you must not be playing/looking at the right game modes for you if you're seeing -30 every round

Someone on the EA Board also noted the absence of The Masters on the cover and got this response from an EA moderator:

"While I can't confirm or deny if August National is still in the game, EA will be commenting on it very soon....."

Well that's not very promising. If Augusta's out that's an extra 60 bucks that'll be staying in my pocket next year.

Just to put it out there... there is typically more promotional information on covers, so that is likely not the final version that will be out. It could go either way, but I would think Augusta's success so far in the game would lend to it still being there....

I hope so because I to would not buy it if Augusta is no longer included. I just bought 13 anyway so, it is still pretty new to me.

# 17 brandon27 @ 11/16/12 02:47 PM
Cool. However, they'd have to completely revamp this game in its entirety to get me to buy it. Either that, or allow me to carry over my downloaded courses. I got them all last year, and I know EA will force me to buy them again for TW14. So, if nothing major changes, other than a new course here or there, or a new golfer I can use.. that I'll never use... I probably won't be buying.

Great find. While I may have bought the game regardless, having this edition and a Master's challenge makes it a must buy for me then. Its gonna be fun trying to redo Bubba Watson's shot at 10 in the playoff at Augusta from this year.

# 19 rolltide1017 @ 11/16/12 09:23 PM
I just hope the figure out away to get playoffs (back) in, been saying that for a lifetime it seems. There excuse of not having all the pros in the game doesn't fly with me. They had playoffs in the game in the first (maybe first 2) iteration on the 360 and, the way it was implemented back then was just fine IMO. They need to bring it back!

# 20 ComfortablyLomb @ 11/19/12 10:31 AM
I wish they would get rid of cover athletes entirely. Of course, I wish we got a PGA Tour game instead of a Tiger Woods game. Maybe then it wouldn't basically be a create a superstar game.
