San Antonio Spurs
Manu Ginobili - 87
Tim Duncan - 87
Tony Parker - 86
Stephen Jackson - 78
Kawhi Leonard - 76
DeJuan Blair - 72

Jackson is too high. He's a spot up/facilitator that tries hard right now. And Diaw should be higher than Blair. I'm loving the rest though!

Does 2k ever explain how they find their ratings?

Yeah, that needs to be changed. It's LDD, not Closer.

Gotta watch my shot within there before I get erased and my offense takes a drop for a moment.

When he's on the floor, the other Lakers will get up to a six point defensive attribute boost. Great, World Peace with even MORE defense and if Kobe is locked and loaded, I gotta watch out.

Gotta play him right because either he'll use a post move and finish strong through it or attempt to completely flush the dunk in my face for an and one.

Oh boy...

...am I the only one looking forward to strategizing with signature skills?! No sarcasm in this post at all, I'm really loving the ability to determine what other type of things I can throw at Dwight to get him off the floor.
I am...hopefully it really translates when playing rather than just some fancy icons the players have.

Man, Bosh and Tyson Chandler really got a raw deal. And when so many ratings seem inflated, it makes their ratings stand out even more.

How can Anthony Davis come into the league rated higher than the Defensive Player of the league. Sure, he will be some day, but Tyson is a game changer on defense.

And, Bosh, man that guy gets major disrespect. He doesn't need to necessarily be ranked higher than players like Pau, Griffin, Amare, Duncan, Garnett, etc, but he definitely has to be at least in that area. Honestly, there's no way he should be less than an 84 with Amare.

As for overrated, I guess tiny guys that can dunk are better than most team's starters. Nate Robinson and Gerald Green are ridiculously overrated. 2K needs to lessen the impact of athletic ability on an overall rating.

Can't wait for the season to start and some of these ratings to get adjusted. *If they can even get it right then. I don't want to continually be changing Bosh's rating...

Honestly, I agree with most of these, there are a few that seem overrated, like Carter, but when you look at the comparison of big starts to not so big stars, the numbers look about right. Also, I do think that Lin should be higher, but I can understand why it isn't. One needs to watch how he does this season compared to last. If he's not as good, then perhaps he should be lower. However, if he starts playing like he did when Lin-sanity was going on. He sould be like at least an 80.

I actually think 85 is fairly accurate for Dirk, based on last season. His numbers were down (granted, mainly due to early-season struggles but it still counts), his defense isn't particularly great and he's seemingly allergic to rebounding. His offensive ratings will still be high so what's the problem?

Just because Dirk's a great scorer, doesn't mean he warrents higher defensive and rebounding ratings just to increase his overall. I was ranting about it earlier; 2K does it with all the stars. To wit: Carmelo Anthony.

I agree with the rest of what you said, though, for the most part.

Overall rating means nothing if you look at their other ratings. Lol some of y'all don't know anything

# 90 guiba28 @ 09/17/12 01:19 PM
Pau>Dirk? Nash>Parker? Manu>Parker? Kidd OVR 80? Green>David West? Caron Butler and Chauncey Billups are too high. The Lakers 5 is severely overrated. Nash and Pau should both be 84-85. Also Dwight should be a 93. Bosh could be a little higher

# 91 Thunder Storm @ 09/17/12 01:20 PM
Jeremy Lin floor general ... yikes.

He's a good PG and all but..

ikr..

I'm not the one to complain about out the box ratings but some of these assigned skills are very questionable.

Avery Bradley 79 wtf come on

Dirk Nowitzki 85 2k constantly underate this guy.

And Paul Gasoft 87 yeah more like 83 Dirk should have his rating seriously Pau Gasol can't lead a team at all. He's too soft and doesn't have a high motor.

Nate Robinson 77 wow

The rest of the ratings are ok. Just the guys who were injured last year are over rated minus D. Rose. Jeff Green didn't even play last season and he's a 78 lol.
Uh when have the Lakers asked him to lead the team at all? There is this guy called Kobe on the Lakers...he has the team leader thing on lockdown. Has anyone heard of him?

And I love how all the Lakers should be dropped in ratings yet almost everyone else went up due to sig ratings. If the Laker players stay healthy, they have a ton of quality sig ratings to bring them up to where they are. A big IF on the stay healthy part for me though.

Overall rating affect association big time! That's the main problem. Looking at individual ratings is great for playing a single game, but in other modes overalls just screw up the gameplay and immersion. I'm tired of seeing Dirk traded for Orton and a 2nd rounder, and teams like the Warriors doing great.

But isn't it a little bit suspect when everyone else is getting a boost and he isn't? He's one of the most valuable players in the league - 77 is an insult. Monobrow and Ibaka should not be, respectively, rated 3 and 4 points higher than Chandler.

2K's ratings are baseless. Ratings are truer to fanfare and league popularity than each player's actual abilities. There are a few anomalies, of course, such as Avery Bradley's inexplicable 79.

Chris Bosh has been shafted this year. His defense is actually pretty good and the Heat's offense falls apart without him.
