Also, since when is Michael Jordan the same skin tone as Kobe Bryant? MJ should be a tone darker than him at least.

Can't believe 2k's art team doesn't notice these things.
that was my complaint since Nba 2k11. jordan should be black as hell.
jordan is z bo complexion in real life

Just watched the Live trailer again. I really am starting to think their art is superior to 2K's. Sure they got a few player models that look weird, and their jerseys seem a bit odd, however:

- Unlike 2K, their jerseys fit to the player (so Live has the superior cloth effect)
- I actually think the lighting looks better in Live
- You can see in some players where the do have the defined muscles (like Westbook), and like a few others on here, I believe 2K's models need some serious work.
- Live does have the superior cyberfaces, sure CP3 looks kind of strange, but 2K has a few guys that look weird
- Live is a lot better at accessories, and if I remember correctly, they have the home/away accessories (at least the did in Live 10)
- Live's colors are more bold and their red is RED, unlike 2K's red being pink

Now I am by no means a Live fanboy or whatever, I've been playing 2K for as long as I can remember, but I did used to play Live a lot, like I believe a good many of us did. Both games have positives and negatives, 2K just has A LOT more positives. But I am glad that competition is back so both companies can continue to grow and produce great games.

Now if 2K would for real just fix their art....

Hey man, I was just giving my opinion. I mean, at least the jerseys fit, and they aren't so baggy, Live's jerseys look more like what you'd see in real life. And I just said SOME of the models look better. Yeah, some look weird, but look at LeBron in that picture, he looks ripped while Allen looks more lean, so they have more variety. All of 2K's players seem to look too bulky, and too big. There's not much diversity.

But like I said, I'm not a Live fanboy or anything, I just think they do a FEW things here and there, SLIGHTLY better than 2K, and if 2K would make art more of a focus, then it would really add to the immersion factor.

I completely disagree with you about the jerseys...the jersey on live looks like their painted on and hardly move...how is that closer to real life? They fit like under armor shirts lol.

Live does have better detail in the faces though...lighting seems better as well...but 2k definitely has better body models and jersey physics...

Do you not see how snug the jerseys are on these players? There's little to no space between their skin and the jersey.

See how big the arm holes are?

Look at David West's back, see how much space there is?

Now some players do wear baggier jerseys, like Kobe. That's why there should be more variety. Some players wear long shots, some wear shorter shorts. We need more variety on everything really. Especially the jerseys and player builds. Most players in both games tend to look a lot like each other, just different faces.

Look at this thread for more examples:

If 2K could fix all of that, shoot... if they could fix HALF of that, I would be overjoyed. (I'll be ecstatic either way because I love the 2K franchise...)

Really think that the reason they put that bizarre floating gap between jersey and skin is because otherwise we'd see a ton of skin clipping through jerseys. Don't think they can fix it after all this time. I'd bank that they've tried.

Maybe they'll get it better when the next gen platforms drop and they've used a whole new engine from the ground up.

Along with accurate wingspans and more differential body types...won't stop bringing that up until I see Durant, Prince, and Davis looking like characters from a CLAMP anime. Get on it, 2K!

Yeah, if having jerseys painted right on the player's skin is the only alternative, I'll take the gapping.

Maybe it's beacuse player models have changed over the years? NBA 2K7 had them right too:

Possibly... I think I was more worried about how small the court was at that time.. it used to be so small lol.

# 154 Eman5805 @ 09/17/12 05:20 PM
The 2K7 jersies floated over player models too back then. They also had this invisible anchor point at the top of the shoulder that made a rounded M shape whenever a plaeyr jumped up and down.

Looked a lil' better though.

If the relatively generic create-a-team feature remains the same for 2K13, do you guys believe it'll be possible to re-create Dream Team opponents to pass off close enough to being real? I feel like some teams had jerseys just plain enough to make me a believer if someone were to put something together.

I think 2K would really benefit from allowing users to apply city, country, or team names to the front of a jersey in lieu of a logo.

I just played this game in 2K12...check out the epic ending:
