Madden NFL 13 News Post

EA Sports has confirmed Madden NFL 13 online fantasy drafts will arrive tomorrow, in a server side fix for online users. While it's not the editing in CCM most of us were looking for, it is something the community has asked for.

The internet can broaden the mind if used for that purpose but it's also full of BS and can easily dumb down an individuals intelligence also. Want to broaden the mind there are Libraries for that, also though something as a game system and a game is expensive true but it's a onetime deal while the internet is essentially a bill thrown on top of you other living expenses so a person may save for something they want like a gaming system and a game later so therefore it can be affordable even if on a low budget while the internet may not be in there best interest if your income is too low to budget it in. Also most games now and days require broadband connections and that is an easy $40 a month. But I see all points of the arguments though

I'm not even trying to say he holds that opinion. I'm just saying in my position, I don't find that to be a mature way to live your life.

If the focus isn't to be a mature adult, then that's fine. But to say video games SHOULD be part of your life when you can't afford something as basic as internet access is pretty weird and sounds like the priorities of a child more than an adult. If you're in a position to acquire and play video games, you're in a position to afford internet access. And most people would certainly choose the internet over video games considering the career and life opportunities the internet can provide.

When I was a kid, I would gladly have shared Aussie's outlook.

Seriously to all the people that are complaining about having Franchise Back?
If you do the Coach Connecting Career its the same as a FRANCHISE, you dont have to progress the players manually... you can have it do it for you by just hitting a button?

No offense but I actually like having to scout players and not know what round they go in. Its part of doing the work and finding the "Steals of the Draft"

Connecting career as a coach is way better than the Franchises of the past. they just need to add Training Camp, Restricted and Unrestricted free agency. And the career mode would be set.

Seriously if its that big of a problem... Go play Madden 12!

Man, this is funny. Here's a timeline:

08-28-12: Electronic Arts Madden National Football League Twenty Twelve Releases to much pent up, strange anger. "They left out [whatever ____ likes]

Over the days, they attempted and did fix some issues for the online crowd. Hell, it's easier to push out server side updates than to just funnel their time into a patch that will take weeks. Things get fixed, things will be fixed for the users living in rural areas and other non-suburban and urban areas. Or users who refuse to start a private CCM. As the days roll by, more anger at what was left out builds and the usual arguments arise.

Defense, "I hate this passing!", "Why I throw picks man!?", "EA SuX!!!" etc.

09-13-12: Electronic Arts Tiburion Studio, developers of Madden National Football League Twenty Twelve tells users that they will be pushing a server side update adding Fantasy Draft. People, seemingly out of the woodwork say they care not about a Fantasy Draft and claims of "They are totes catering to the casual crowd!"

What's new, another day reading Operation Sports. Something that used to be informative has turned into a home for people to just constantly be wishy washy on what they want and insult other people/developers of games/the sun for being too hot/water for being to wet.

This whole thread and its' incessant bitching deserves a "smack my head" moment. They are updating, adding, conning, whatever makes you feel important when talking about EA, things the fans want. Some things, which I figure equipment editing, may be harder to implement. But do, continue yelling at the invisible mean EA in your mind.

And an addendum, offline players, I highly doubt they will not patch fixes into your mode when the actual gameplay patch arrives.

My problem is this: i bought the game 14 days ago, i am an offline CCM player only. What I got was: Broken gamerplay( cpu running game, sliders not working) Broken coach schemes ( west coast off. and spread def. the only options for a created coach) No roster updates( and the one we are getting today, is allready outdated) Is this fair?. I paid full price, you know.

it is not fair, you bought a product that does not let you do what you payed for. i agree with you, it feels like a complete ripoff......i wonder what would happen if we took a law suit towards EA and got everyone that feels the same to sign a partition, you reckon we could win?? we could take a class action suit, just like people did here in australia against bank fees, and they won with ease. im down

This is a nice addition I like and many people love, so that's good news. However, I'm not giving EA an ounce of credit. They just don't deserve it. Recycling or re-adding features is not something to applaud. There is never any attention to detail. It's always a disappointing gift in fancy wrapping paper. When they actually re-add all the features that were there since 2004, Improve the gameplay, work out the bugs, and then add something new and exciting, THEN I will praise them. Right now they just string all their fans along with a poorly made game. Preference is one thing, but every year they do this. They strip the game down and slowly add things back in. It's pretty ridiculous. EA is a business obviously, but when they buy the licensing and corner the market, the fans are stuck with whatever they put out. Other companies don't do this.

hahah your so for lack of a better word stupid.....you have such a closed mind frame, not even going to bother with you anymore, your dumb and ignorant to the fact that other people may have circumstances differing to ones you are familiar with. there are so many flaws in your arguments im not even attempt to go through them all. down under here in australia were we ride kangaroos to school, and they just roam through our cities, and dingos eat our babies, we call you a wanker.

That's why you don't see "If it's in the game, it's in the game" which was their motto for more than a decade. It's not in the game. It's false advertisement. Very sneaky those EA people.

My problem with adding fantasy drafts is this: Why continue to add to a game that remains fundamentally broken in several key areas. Fix it first, then add features.

# 172 IWWROCKS @ 09/14/12 07:59 AM
EA can't win...there's been loads of posts on here, and I mean loads, asking for fantasy draft. They add it in, and you get a load of people complaining cause they should focus on other areas first!

If I was EA I wouldnt bother updating anything lol...i'd just tell everyone "if you want something different, make your own game"

who says ppl are sitting back gaming all day, who even came to that assumption?? did i mention that, no i didint...u should actually take a step back n realize that there are different races, different ppl, different beliefs out there, instead of resorting to your ignorant close minded thought process....but i guess like kendrick lamar says it ignorance is bliss....thats why america is quote un quote the best country i the world.....because ignorance is f'n bliss aint it

Well, congrats to the Fantasy Draft people! Not exactly what I was hoping for, but we can't all win!

With that being said I really REALLY hope their next focus is on getting all the things within CCM that don't work fixed - including game play!! They can continue to add all the things people are yelling for, but if the mode itself is... broken, then I won't play it! I've spend all my time with Madden 13 playing with sliders without getting to a spot where I'm happy

The game plays a real solid digital football simulation in Play Now! So if they can add Fantasy Draft a few weeks after release it shouldn't take too long to "import" the game play from Play Now to CCM! So here's to hoping that's their next focus!

# 175 ajk49er @ 09/14/12 08:32 AM
agree, why havent more asked this.

wasnt fantasy draft removed in theory, to improve it? so that when its back in it is "perfect"? wouldnt that mean more of what we see from other games(I wont list them to not piss people off)

but dont we want logic where the cpu will take the better younger player over the soon to retire next year player of a same overall etc? cant tell me that those other games dont make fantasy draft actually awesome due to the CPU taking those high potential(or development) rating players

I'll never understand the logic behind taking something out like coop franchise when so many people play that way and have ever since it's conception. Must we be forced to keep up with the times and be subjected to interacting with friends solely behind our headsets?? I've seen older players of this game imploring them to put it back in cause its the old school way. I'm 23 and I choose to play the oldschool way and only that way, I hate the direction this game is going streamlining everything to online. Show some substance and loyalty EA.

Again, i'm happy for those who want this. One thing that baffles me though are the people saying "give them a break, they're obviously thinking about us and are working hard by putting these things back in"
Well its hard for me to cut EA any slack when its a feature that has been in the games for years, they take it out, theres an uproar and then they put it back in. If they left important things alone there wouldn't be so much distaste for this game.
I'll give them credit when they put something in the game that significantly improves the game for offline and online people and that wasn't stripped from the last installment. So yeah, to me, this effort isn't too impressive. Nothing will be overly impressive until they show some loyalty to the offline crowd that have helped with the success in sales for so many years.
Completely agree.

I've bought Madden since the very first console version and I've been enjoying co-op since they first introduced it, 15+ years ago.

I can't believe that a sport, which relies so heavily on teamwork in reality, is represented by a videogame which doesn't allow for human teammates. I can't think of any other team-based sports games which prohibits teamwork?

# 177 llcmac @ 09/14/12 08:36 AM
Well, good for the people that wanted this. I didn't want it, but at least we now know if the community keeps talking about things will happen.

Now I just have to go bump every thread about editing and better late game AI.

EA could win if they put out a completed product to begin with. Not a game that is full of missing features and no-brainer fixes like player editing.

# 179 teampunjabi @ 09/14/12 08:43 AM
will this feature add value to this games trade value?

# 180 DocHolliday @ 09/14/12 08:43 AM
Unless you play with 32 people, this will be pointless.

As we have seen in the AI drafting and FA ability, there is now way, I repeat NO WAY, that they developed the Fantasy draft logic to a decent level for this new mode.

Fix CCM EA, cmon.
