Observations:

1. MJ >>> Kobe
2. Damn, the movements look real
3. They brought the sweat on players back

I'm hype as hell for this game!

p.s.- Jordan lost in the playoffs plenty of times. He also had some poor shooting nights in the Finals, and he also had some great teammates as in HOF or top shelf specialists, and great coaches.

He lead his teams to 6-0 in the Finals. He also made Pippen into the player he became (Scottie even admits it). His teams also lost in the playoffs until his teammates decided to man up (Pippen and Grant especially).

To keep it on topic, this video rocks.

MJ>over Kobe, without MJ who would Kobe copycat, from the walk to the mannerisms, to the style of play, to his number changes 24, 10. In the words of Rakim- "Don't sweat the Technique" there can only be one Michael Jordan.

# 49 lv2bll @ 09/09/12 10:40 PM
I like how a mod says don't turn this into a comparison thread, and then everyone starts comparing them. The vid is top notch as always shady

The fact that people even compare Kobe to Michael just proves how great of a player Kobe Bryant is.

Let's face it.

Can Bulls fans just let this crap go ?

nobody is even saying Kobe better than MJ, the audio in the video is from NBA analysts not anybody in this forum. Stop derailing.

I could've easily brought up Kobe's performance in the 2004 Finals (.381 FG%) or the 2008 Finals

(GAME 1 Lakers Lose 88-98
9-26 24 points

GAME 2 Lakers Lose 102-108
11-23 30 points

GAME 3 Lakers Win 87-81
12-20 36 points

GAME 4 Lakers Lose 91-97
6-19 17 points

GAME 5 Lakers Win 103-98
8-21 25 points

GAME 6 Lakers Lose 92-131
7-22 22 points

For the first 3 games Kobe shot 46% and averaged 30ppg
For the last 3 games Kobe shot 34% and averaged 21.3ppg)

or his performance in the 2010 finals where clearly Pau Gasol played better than him (28.6 PPG, .405%, 3.9 APG, 3.9 TPG vs. 18.6 PPG, .478 FG%, 11.6 RPG, 3.7 APG) or his Finals series with Shaq, where Diesel won three Finals MVP's but oh no, Kobe played a big impact!

Kobe was just as good as Shaq!

Yet Shaq was the more dominant player (arguably the most dominant big man ever), asserted himself to be the #1 option which lead to plays being favored towards him, which helped him to win....guess what? An MVP while playing on the same team with Kobe.

Then you have somebody try to excuse Kobe's 3-1 hiccup by saying ohh Kobe had scrubs, well he didn't have scrubs when they had a 3-1 lead did he? Nope, instead it was Kobe once again showing how great he can be by leading a bunch of scrubs to a 3-1 lead.

LOL.

Also let's not get it twisted people, I only put those three points up in my previous post because I figured people would get that picture that Kobe is not in the same radius as MJ or his former buddy Shaq. So if he isn't even better than Shaq then how the hell can he be better than Magic? or MJ? or Kareem?

Hell if Lebron keeps up this pace he could be better than Kobe.

He's already efficiently a better shooter & has three MVP's to help his case. I didn't even post up Kobe's field goal percentage for his career or his woeful basketball IQ which leads to horrendous results or mention that he's never had a season shooting over 47%.

Oh yeah let me post a little something for people who claim he's so clutch as well:

Shots attempted with under 24 seconds left in 4th quarter or ot trailing by two or less in regular season and playoffs (from 00-01 season until now)

Carmelo Anthony - 51% (25 for 49)
Chris Paul - 41% (13 for 32)
Dirk Nowitzki - 36% (21 for 59)
Ray Allen - 35% (21 for 60)
LeBron James - 31% (21 for 68)
Vince carter - 30% (22 for 73)
Kobe Bryant - 30% (31 for 103)
Dwayne wade - 27% (15 for 56)
Joe Johnson - 26% (17 for 65)
Derrick Rose - 25% (8 for 32)
Kevin Durant - 24% (11 for 45)

Please don't let me post eFG%, XeFG% & shot location data so I can give y'all the bed-time treatment....
Put the haterade down bro. Did u seriously try to say that Pau Gasol played better then Kobe in that series? There's not a chance in hell u watched a game to say that...

Id waste some more energy in totally destroying your basketball intellect but it'd clearly be a waste of my time. Its funny how out of all the top 10 players in basketball history, Kobe's the only one who gets the "played with so much talent" argument thrown against him. Meanwhile Bird's Celtics were stacked, Magic's Lakers had a couple of hall of famers on it as well. MJ played with a couple too...

More clutch than MJ??

Has anyone ever taken into account Kobe's performances is elimination games?? He has flamed out of the playoffs in ways that I've never seen another all-time great has. Example...

1997 WCSF game 5 loss to the Jazz – Infamous 4 airballs in the final minutes and OT game. He's was a rookie, he deserves a break. But, as a rookie Kobe was airballing, MJ was dropping 63 one one of the team's of the decade. Just saying.

2004 NBA Finals game 5 loss to Detroit – Eventually lost by 13 thanks to garbage minutes. Lakers were down 27pts in the 4th

2006 WCQF game 7 loss to Suns – Lakers blew 3-1 series lead. Lakers lose by 31pts. Kobe only shoots 3 times in the 2nd half. He quits on his team.

2007 WCQF game 5 loss to Suns – Down by as much as 16 in the 4th Lakers lose by 11

2008 NBA Finals game 6 loss to Boston – Lakers lose by 39pts. (side note: Lakers blew a 25pt lead in game 4 which could have tied the series 2-2)

2011 WCSF game 4 swept by Dallas – Lakers lose by 36pts.

2012 WCSF game 5 loss to OKC – Lakers lose by 16pts

With a resume like that you can’t say Kobe is more clutch than MJ when he has repeatedly let his team get embarrassed when they need him the most; in a blowout losses with the season on the line.

^^^ That is why it's tough being a Kobe fan, too many have no idea wtf they are talking about and make the rest of us look bad.

That's not hate it's facts & this is coming from someone who rarely uses stats. Gasol DID play better than Kobe in the series (minus Game 7 yuck & even Game 1 where they both played meh), Kobe took some horrible shots & also missed a lot of ones that he usually makes, while Gasol was much more efficient offensively & defensively. Remember this is the same Gasol that had gotten bitched down in the 08 Finals but came back & shocked a lot of people.

So yes I did watch the series for your information.

And LOL @ destroying basketball intellect. You have a better shot at watching the Mets win anything in the near future than destroying anybody's intellect. Let's be clear I don't hate Kobe, I just hate this myth that he's second greatest to Jordan. Kobe has the killer instinct that I love, he has a very good skill-set, he's also a fiery leader but he's overrated.

A good player but he's a chuck in every sense of the word. I do give him props for finally trying to trust his teammates last season even though they played soft as baby poop.

If people could come to grips that he shouldn't be compared to MJ in any way then everything would be lovely.

You mean the same Pau Gasol that was 0-12 in the playoffs before joining LA? You must have missed game 5 when every single Laker sans Kobe disappeared in a run in which he scored 17 points in 6 minutes. He also scored 10 points in the 4th quarter of that game 7 to go along with 18 rebounds in the game. Ron Artest was the best player in game 7 followed by Kobe. But yeah, Pau was the best player...sure...

You cannot be a chucker and win five championships. Let alone 3 straight and another back to back. Allen Iverson was a chucker. Kobe Bryant is not. Then again, by your logic, Jordan was a chucker too. Highest FGA per game was 27.8 opposed to Kobe's 27.2. Jordan also averaged 25 per game a couple of times, something Kobe has NEVER done in his career. What a chucker Michael was! See I can do it too!

And man, that little insult you threw at me utilizing my username was pretty clever.

Just admit it, you don't like the guy, its okay. You're not alone. And for the record, Jordan himself said Kobe is comparable to him and in fact the only one who is. But hey, what does he know, he just has to come to grips like the rest of us...

# 58 daveberg @ 09/11/12 03:47 AM
Lol, Kobe fans. SMH.

The guy is an amazing talent, sure thing. Best player in the league still in my eyes. (I'm not even going to mention that 'other' guy) But comparing him to Jordan is just ridiculous. Aside from any visual similarity in regards to their game play, that's where it ends.

Again, fantastic video by shady, I do quite a bit of vid editing myself, Shady is definitely a huge inspiration.

Jordan career in the NBA finals is 33 ppg on 48 percent shooting
Kobe career in the NBA finals is 25 ppg on 41 percent shooting
Jordan in the playoffs in the clutch is 9/18
Kobe in the playoffs in the clutch is 7/25

video is a nice video game replica of the original - nice job.

# 60 flamangatang2k5 @ 09/11/12 11:58 AM
Awesome video by Shady. But listening to Mark Jackson nearly ruins it for me.

At the time of that statement, Mark Jackson had no reason to think Kobe would be greater than Jordan, but he still said it.

This argument is pointless, it's clear that Jordan is far and above Kobe. Anyone could make this same exact video comparing Jordan to Vince Carter, Stackhouse, T-Mac, JR Rider, Harold Miner, and even Lebron James. So I don't understand why Kobe's fans get so excited and say/write crazy stuff. Sure he mimicked MJs moves, but that doesn't means he's as good as him or even close. So did all the other NBA players who were athletic and close to that size.
