Madden NFL 13 News Post

The Madden NFL 13 roster update for week 1 arrives tomorrow morning for Play Now (offline/online). The rosters for Connected Careers arrives early next week.

These Madden NFL 13 rosters reflect the final 53 man rosters of all 32 NFL teams, no rating changes have been made.

UPDATE: So it seems, some Madden NFL 13 ratings were adjusted.
  • Russell Wilson goes up from 74 to 76 OVR
  • Richard Sherman's press rating is going up
  • Cam Newton's consistency rating is going up
  • Blaine Gabbert's overall rating will be going up, no number was given
  • Victor Cruz will NOT get a "DROP" in ratings... Drops open passes trait will not be adjusted. (at least for this week)
  • Jarrett Boykin ratings are going up (rookie WR for the Packers)

The update will be available for download on the Xbox 360 and PS3 on Saturday morning. The update will reflect the final 53 man rosters of all 32 NFL teams.

The initial 75 man preseason rosters that were released with Madden NFL 13 will continue to be available for offline and online Connected Careers so that fans who want to manage the final roster of their team can do so. Final 53 man rosters will also be made available early next week for offline and online Connected Careers giving users the choice to use either roster when starting their Connected Careers experience.

There are over 700+ transactions that went into this massive update. NFL teams had to cut down from 90 to 53, so safe to say there is a lot of player movement reflected in this roster update.

I just hope he lowered the high rated free agent players so they quit signing and starting for teams. ie. McNabb, Clifton, ect.

Donny usually lists any and every change made in these detail lists.

Nah, I'm sure it's because Dallas played Wednesday night. Our changes will be reflected in next Fridays update.

Which means a second game will wipe out the changes. I expect an update every other week. We were looking at a boost for Lee, Romo, massive boost for Ogletree, few stats for Bryant and Austin, toughness for Witten and a overall point for Murray.

We beat the superbowl champs!!

It was one game, I don't understand why Skip Bayless is saying how Romo should be in the MVP talks because of Wednesday night. I'm just ready for the rosters so I can finally start my dolphins CCM

Skip also thinks Tebow is God's answer to Tom Brady... so take it all with a grain of salt.

I don't think ANYONE should get a ratings jump after one game... and I'm PICKING UP Ogie in fantasy... that secondary, especially after Tryon entered the game, was ATROCIOUS Wednesday night... Obviously there's very little time to throw with that pass rush, and Romo only had the ball hit the floor 7 times.

So the rosters out tomorrow won't be able to be used in offline CCM? Since it says later in the post that rosters for use in that game mode are to come early next week.

Anyone able to clarify? Not quite so familiar with how (or indeed why) they differ.

they will be in next weeks the cut off date is weds.... the first game didnt happen till weds night.... also by just scrolling threw i see a few transactions they missed marcus bernard de for browns got lowered on depth chart but he was cut in 53 man roster cuts that happened last friday....evan moore was released and signed by the seahawks but it dosent show that. also a few number changes on browns didnt make it yea they got gordons to #13 but cj robertson lb changed his to #53, tank carder changed his to #94, billy winn changed his to #90 so hopefully they get fixed in second update.theres couple other ones i saw also.

This roster update ain't for the CCM. I don't think you can load this roster and play with them on a CCM currently only Play Now & Online.

Thanks, can handle that.

I hope Donny got these rosters right, there should be ZERO tolerance with these roster updates since they took the option to edit players away from us.

# 15 Gronkanador @ 09/07/12 01:21 PM
Wonder how long they will keep Jeff Demps in the game considering he was put on IR

# 16 mirrored32 @ 09/07/12 01:21 PM
dumb that i can't edit rosters or use the updated rosters for CC. The issue I think is the MASS confusion of how this all works. can edit rosters, can't edit rosters, download rosters work, but for only play now and etc. . .blah blah. . . i am so lost. can we fix the media confusion EA?

Exactly. We should have had an update a long time ago just to fix the CPU depth charts in connected careers.

No ratings changes have been made???

This could potentially be a problem for people like me who want realistic depth charts. Case in point, Russell Wilson is rated lower than Matt Flynn, yet Wilson is slated to start in real life. So unless you actually play as the Seahawks, expect Flynn to be the starter in CC.

CC = WIP

Well last year Tyron was the #2 tackle in all of football at the age of 20. I expect the following.

#1 Tony Romo: Increase

+2 to Mid Accuracy (84 to 86)
+10 to Play Action (72 to 82)
+3 to Carry (55 to 58)

Why the huge jump in play action? Because he's severely underrated there. He's one of the best play fakers in the NFL. He corrected his fumbling issue long ago.

#2 Kevin Ogletree: Increase

+5 to Route Running (65 to 70)
+23 to Release (51 to 74) is excellent at beating press off the line

#3 Bruce Carter: Increase

Quietly had a nice game

Tackle needs biggest increase, play recognition/pursuit also.

#4 Brandon Carr: Increase

+1 Man Coverage (93 to 94)
+3 to Press (92 to 95)

#5 Morris Claiborne: Increase

+4 to Press (85 to 89)

#6 Tyron Smith: Decrease

Awareness minus a few points
