I was expecting to see a jump in sales after all the talk of the physics engine and CCM.

That said, I hope these record breaking sales don't stop the Madden team (in terms of complacency), from patching in core gameplay modes like co-op CCM.

^ actually i think it proves that the majority of people dont care about Fantasy draft, or editing rosters. To sim gamers like us, its a huge deal, but to the casual fan that madden is targetting, they are happy and content with just playing as their favorite teams or players

It's Twitter. It's not some exclusive club. You can do a simple search and see how right or how very wrong your suggestion is, no "I think..." to push one view or another required.

Good Job. Good Effort. EA Sports & Tiburon studios... Guys your all going to get bonus... I can not argue the the new engine is much welcome, but the price users like myself had to pay...those who go even at midnight to wait in line for its release day every year since Madden became the only football video game in the world...If there was anyone else this monopoly scheme would not be working... Now i understand why Papa Johns gave a 50% off on Madden 13 relase date... so we all stay home online buying MUT cards..and XP...ordering pizza. Well what if i dont like to play online with cheesers who blitz every single play, and glitch they go for it on every play..and say things over the mic that i care nothing for...Glad all you guys at EA sitting big with your fame & $$$... Still just like everything in life karma is a mofo... Hope one day they would be someother dev who is allowed by the NFL to created a game to compete with EAs..

I don't go on Twitter much, but when I did this week, I saw an overwhelming number of positive tweets vs negative tweets.

It's also interesting to see the difficulties people are playing on.

Taking that a step further, here are the people who lost on rookie and felt the need to tweet about it anyways

Those like me who wanted to see the off-line CCM problems fixed can pretty much forget about it because I dont see EA/Tiburon fixing a damn thing now. Of course, I wasnt expecting them to fix anything in general but now, I would say that its pretty much a guarantee that they wont.

Oh well, I guess its time to look for 2K5 on ebay and get back to editing.

I think i have my xbox copy of nfl 2k5. ill sell it to you.

EA deserve this for all the hard work. Its a simple circle: put in more effort => happy gamers => more profit

Overall this game is a much better product than what I've grown accustomed to getting from EA so I think the increase in sales are justified. However there are a ton of holes in Madden that makes it still incomplete. This is a great start but still much more is needed. I like CCM or rather the potential of it, but as of now it's far too restrictive/limiting to be fully enjoyed IMO.

Toys R Us charging $44.99 probably helped even though mine has not even shipped yet. :-(

Yep. Wasn't there a jump last year - yet they went on to have one of the worst years in long time. According to vgchartz, they barely scratched over 5 million units sell through. That's the lowest in at least 8 years. Let's wait and see. Announcements like this are used to spur more sales. Nintendo is the king of that bs...

Not surprising to me...Madden 13 is the best football game this generation, period. All the haters around here that try and bash the game go eat a bit of crow and NOT enjoy anyone NFL football videogame while the rest of us can and will have a blast with Madden 13.

How you like them apples?

Congrats EA on being just a tiny little bit better every year. You have outdone yourselves. You have earned our applause
"Madden 13 is the best football game this generation, period. Uhhhh ya because we have many other options besides madden each year right???

Good to read, very happy for the Madden team. This will be the platform from which they build from for future versions of the game.

They marketed this game harder than last year's game i feel and it's payed off. With Facebook and Twitter you get professional athletes like Lebron James tweeting about playing the game and then you got kids who then think they can get a game against him online so they want the game even more.

Is the game better than last year? Yes. Do i still feel the game is a disappointment? Completely. And not just because i was disappointed with the infinity engine and the wonky tackles but the fact that they took so much user control out of the game. I always enjoyed playing as many games with as many teams during a franchise. In NBA 2k i control every team, same with MLB the Show. I don't play every game and most of the time i just play one team's games, but i like the option of being able to play as different teams. Same with NCAA Football. And then add to that editing, we can't edit players. It's disappointing to have that control taken away after you've grown so accustomed to it for all these years and enjoyed it. It's not a terrible game, it's just not a game i see myself playing for too long especially with WWE 13, NBA 2k13 & Call of Duty Black Ops 2 all coming out in the next fews months. Madden is no longer a game i NEED to have and care about spending time playing.
This is sad....so they sold alot because they used ads? Cant be because its a good game...nba2k,cod.....use the same thing so they sell alot because of ads to right? Right....Just sad people...this is a crying shame.....:banghead::thumbdown:running out of excuses people...

I'm not surprised really. People been asking for physics in Madden for YEARS and now Madden finally got it, of course a hell of a lot people going to buy the game to try it out. Plus it don't hurt that the graphics look really good too. And this is the 1st time in many years that I don't have to mute the commentary in a Madden game.

13 is a tiny bit better?

All I need to measure this is our 17 yr old son. Last year, turned on Madden 12, and didn't even complete a game. Threw the controller down and said this is garbage.

Fast forward to yesterday and he is still knee deep today in offline franchise mode, non-stop.

I'm confused. How does fantasy draft = sim players?
