NBA 2K13 News Post

It was announced, roughly two weeks ago that NBA 2K13 would feature the Dream Team. However, it was met with a lot of disappointment because Scottie Pippen couldn't work out a deal with 2K Sports.

As announced today, that has changed. Scottie Pippen joins the Dream Team to complete the Dream Team roster for NBA 2K13.

How do you feel about that!?!?

This year's team wouldn't win because they can't match the size of the dream team. But then again this years team won by drilling 3's and there is no way i think Magic & Bird at their stage and even Pippen & Jordan can prevent Durant, Kobe, Melo, Lebron, Deron, Iggy, etc. from shooting lights out the way they did so they could stay in it that way. If they had Wade, Bosh & Dwight i'd go with the current NBA players hands down. A lot of those Dream Team players were no longer in the prime of their careers.
Excuse me Jordan, Pippen, Barkely, Robinson, Stockton, Malone, Ewing, Mullin, and Drexler sir were not pass their primes by far sir.
If you think that you could beat that team with 3's as your primary weapon you are sadly mistaken.
12' nor 08' could matchup with the overall roster of that Dream Team.
Howard could not defend Robinson or Ewing in the block. He easily would have fouled out trying to stop them. Bosh isn't physical enough to out rebound or defend Malone or Barkley. Kobe, Lebron, Iggy, Melo, or Durant. Could defend any of the names mentioned above.
Also Bird could still shoot and Magic at 6'9' is a problem for any other the guards that those teams had.
5 can only be on the court and the the dream teams before were nowhere as deep as 92'.
Imagine Robinson and Malone on the court at the same time or Ewing and Barkley.
The 92' team just had a lot of Versatility, Athleticism, Strength, better Defense by far, and Offensively.

Since we have the Olympics mode, do we get to see Arvydas Sabonis (when he was before age 30), Dražen Petrović (his unlimited range), Toni Kukoc, and Oscar Schmidt?!

btw, 2k Sports better put the right birthdate for the players.. (especially on the classic teams

Oympics mode? There is only rumours about it. One thing that made it less likely is that there was no achievements about it in the 2K13's achievements list.

I just don't understand why this is such a problem for 2k? They've already been given licence for Barkley, KJ, Majerle, Ainge, Chambers and Ceballos - what's the deal in recreating the America West Arena and letting us have at the 93 Bulls with the Suns??! All we'd need would be Miller, Johnson, West & Dumas and we'd be good to go.

Same as the Pacers. We've already got Jalen Rose, Mark Jackson and Mullin. Throw in Reggie, the Davis boys, McKey, Smits & Best and we've got another wicked legends squad.

Anyhow - So stoked that Pip has signed. Just need full conformation of legends/classic team intergration and then i'm set to pre-order.

Big ups to Scottie Pippen!!

There's no way the 2012 team could even be within 20 points of the Dream Team. I saw someone say 3pt shooting for this team, but 1992 had just as many with the way the international game works. They have no answer for the post, plus Jordan, Drexler, Pippen, Barkley and Stockton could literally go small and run them out of the gym.

Money is the road block. The cost for certain likeness or how much they are asking for whatever capacity they are represented in the game. With classic teams is that we the gamer and NBA lovers. Don't want to see roster SG if they can't get all or the majority of certain rosters.

Let the past be the past -- and thanks for wiring the 1.2 milli!

They have the License for Barkley for the dream team only he would not agree to any other game modes.

anyway, sorry to get sort of off topic but i had to respond.

yay pipp.
So hitting a bunch of 3's is not basketball? Laughable take. If you want to stop them from hitting them, get out there and guard them. I agree 2012 would not win but if they somehow hit 29-30 three's like they did against Nigeria, they deserve to win, because the 92 team could play some D.

@Ken Griffey Jr. Obviously the Pippen thread worked. Now as a 2k fan community we need to start a thread on 2k adding 93 Suns and 99 Pacers teams since that is what a TON of fans want. Why deny us?Or at least create the stadiums and Barockafella can recreate the 99 Pacers and 93 Suns...;-)

Glad 2K and Scottie was able to make a deal happen .

# 136 nova91 @ 08/29/12 01:27 PM
If it was outcry from 2Ks community that got 2K and Pippen to come to an agreement, do you think we could come together and get them to release the demo earlier?

you really think Team USA 2012 would hit high percentage 3s as they did against Nigeria if they were to play against the Dream Team considering the amount of energy they need to spend on defense. Com' on... Nigeria did not have much defense and you really think hitting 3's would win you a basketball game on regular basis, and you really think shooting 3's is a high percentage shot?

BUT... Team USA 2012 could have a chance to beat Dream Team. It's sport and anything can happen. As good as any NBA championship team in any given year, no team would ever maintain undefeated. Any teams would lose a game at certain point. Team USA 2012 is not an expansion team. They could definitely beat Dream Team.

BUT DREAM TEAM was a better team overall and would win majority of the games/or a series against TEAM USA 2012.

This is good Scottie's back on. I bet I know what his real problem was; it wasn't really about money for him. Scottie is still suffering from that "Jordan's shadow" syndrome that he's wanted to get out of so bad, for years. Many people perceive him as "the dude who rode Jordan's back to 6 championships and flamed out after he retired." Pip just wants people to appreciate what he brought to the table. The fan backlash, people disappointed that he wasn't in the game, showed him that he's appreciated by the people. What Pip is going to have to realize really soon is that those who do say Pip rode MJ to 6 rings and that Pip really isn't deserving of Hall entry doesn't know a damn thing about the game of basketball.
I appreciate you, Pip. You weren't just a "sidekick," you were a tag-team partner. You know it, MJ knows it, real basketball fans know it -- that's all that matters. Now lets convince Barkley to incorporate those '93 Phoenix Suns.
