I would've said 89 or 90. Aldon Smith was step for step (or should I say sack for sack) with Von Miller. I could see them both being 89.

I'm surprised Jared Allen is still considered a top 10 guy. I'd argue that everyone behind him on this list is better than him.
The guy had 22 sacks last year. What you talking about?

He did lead the league in sacks last year. Also I think he is a fantastic player. I don't think he is the best at his position right now though. As I said before 6 sacks came in his 2 games against Detroit. 3.5 sacks came in one game against Chicago. As a Lions fan I have seen a lot of him but am not afraid of going against Jared Allen.

That last pass breakup in the video with Revis was a pretty cool animation. Hopefully we will see me pass breakup attempts in actually gameplay. IMO everything is looking pretty good from that video.

Problem with that was Smith was just a pass rusher and that was ll he did. He was a rotational player while Miller wasn't. Miller also had that injury to his hand which caused his play to dip, so I would say Miller is ahead of Smith so he should be in that 90 to 92 range. (not that I agree with it, but based off of where everyone else is rated that is where Miller should be.

Kind of hard to believe JPP doesn't make this list. Carries the Giants' defense on his back for 15 weeks and posted arguably the best defensive stats in the league last year.

Man, P Will isn't a 99? C'mon man!!!

Geno Atkins Bette be atleast a 93. Best 4-3 DT out there last year.

Man his team was down A LOT of the time. and he still posted that many sacks.. when teams run the ball. His rating is justified.

I agree that Atkins is fantastic, but to me his OVR rating is of little concern. As long as they get his pass rushing ratings that allow him to push the pocket like he does in real life, they'll get it right and I'll be happy.

THANKS YOU!!!, When I saw this list I was like no JPP, Madden is crazy...86 Tackles 16.5 sacks and doesn't make the top ten, But Justin Smith does with 50 somethings tackles and 7.5 sacks SMH big time...

Mario Williams was hurt basicly all last year, and he makes that list, WTH, he needs to earn that back.

He actually could be a 97 in fact I bet at least one other defensive player is a 97 just because almost if not every other position has had a tie for 10th overall

Justin Smith was a monster last year. There's more to it than stats. It's an apples to oranges comparison anyway. Justin Smith is a 5 technique- deals with double teams all game.

No Patrick Peterson?

Blasphemous.

What's wrong with EA.

What are they thinking?

I hope the full defensive ratings reveal is separated by position and not all on one excel spreadsheet... I'm very surprised Mario Williams cracked the top 10. I figured he would be outside of the top 10 until he produced but I see Donny decided to give him the benefit of the doubt (not saying I agree with that). I would put JPP in front of Mario until we see how he plays. If he starts the season off the way he did last year then start moving him up to the 97 overall.

# 40 ImaGamer_OS @ 08/20/12 07:47 PM
Not much too complain about in the ratings here IMO. All I can say is I hope I won't be playing the 49er's a couple times a year over the first few seasons of my CCM.
