A future Sun and Fun Conference matchup?!

One of the great features in NCAA Football 13’s Dynasty Mode is the ability to make custom conferences. You might be surprised at how much longevity custom conferences add to Dynasty Mode. In this column, I talk about a few ideas for custom conferences that I’ve enjoyed using.

I like the Cali-Florida idea. Especially now that conference prestige is dynamic, I think I might try this and give the name Conference USA some meaning. Now if we could just edit conference names...

As for the Texas conference, that's something I usually do with the Big 12. I like to make a few moves to break them into a Texas and North division.

here is something a buddy and I did that has been really fun so far and has made for great matchups not just for us individually but across the whole ncaa landscape:

just be careful to readjust the other conferences after taking care of these 4 because otherwise you will have conferences with like 4-5 teams in them and teams will end up playing FCS teams 6 times a year. We forgot to do this in our first season so we had teams like marshall, ucf (not trying to hate but they played like 5 fcs teams), fiu, and a few others going like 12-0, 11-1. but other than that its a ton of fun

I broke my conferences down by region. Made for some interesting conferences

I think the All-Texas conference is great. Making conferences regional is great, as well. The Mountain West and the old WAC need to be sorted out. The Big East needs some tweaking, too. The possible combinations go on and on.

I brought back the old 16-team WAC last year, played about 4 years in it with BYU, definitely my favorite so far.

The Cali-Florida idea is interesting. I've never thought to do that before. I'll have to check that out next time I roll a new dynasty.

Great Idea with the Cali-Florida Conference,Going to do this.

I almost always go with regional conferences. I've done Texas Leagues in the past, but I usually find that it tends to weaken too much, so I usually separate out the north and west Texas teams with the southern ones. One particular alignment I like is to make the ACC seem a little more coastal and regional and turn it into a 14 team league made up of a Floridas Division and a Carolinas Division. Another alignment I've used in the past is turn the MWC into a 16 team super conference with a Mountains Division and a Plains Division.

However, I just started using Mr. Nation's Relegation League settings and am liking what I'm seeing: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ion-final.html
