Agreed. Although when you think about it, what teams don't have a good running back anymore?

Jets? Redskins? Patriots? Bengals? Colts? Packers? Maybe the Saints? Those are the only teams I can think of that maybe don't deserve an 80+ overall RB and you can make an argument for the Saints, Packers, Bengals, and Jets IMO.

Then I would get the game early bc Vereen and Ridley combined for over a 100 rushing yards, both averaged more than 5 yards a carry, Vereen was about 6.4 and Ridley was 5. Both these guys could be a 80 something at years end. If Ridley dosent fumble as much, and his carry rating goes up, that alone puts him near 84, plus trucking catching elusive he could easily be a 88, Vereen if they use him could be 90 something bc his speed will go up, bc they didn't give him his real speed, his catching will go up, his elusive will rise significantly, his trucking will raise a few points, carry will raise, and both will raise there awareness significantly so both realistically could be 85 plus if NE actually uses them. This year they only are going to use 3 backs, vs last season 5 so Woodhead will rise to.

Even worse, you're telling me that there are 107 running backs rated over 70? That's ridiculous.

To the 'ratings are too high' peeps - please give me your top 20 HBs by ovr as well as give me some of their attributes like sp, agi, acc, bcv, car, elu, trk, juke, spin, cth etc. I'm curious as to what you think better ratings for actual NFL players look like. Thanks in advance.

well over half the starting RB's in the league are 85 OVR or above!Since when did 85/100 become mediocre? Pardon my language but what an F'n joke EA. I want to root for Madden and against the haters every year, for the most part I've been a fan, but this is getting stupid.

For those who haven't been outspoken about taking player editing away from us,crap like this makes it damn hard not to be.

Jones Drew is higher overall, but clearly AP is going to be the better back on the field.

Starting NFL HB equals mediocre?

If that is the case then the vast majority of NFL HBs must be sub-mediocre and therefore range from bad to terrible to horrendous.

Regardless, could not agree with you more on the player editing.

Agree these ratings are sad. Oh well

LaMichael James is gonna be a beast! 92 speed, 97 acceleration, and 93 elusiveness. Can't wait to use him!

Regardless, I stated half the STARTING rb's in the league are rated 85 or over, making 85 the rough average for a starting rb. Average = mediocre.

LOL Packers running backs. At least Kuhn's finally getting some love.

Looks like I'm going full fledged Air Raid this year.

God the Dolphins always get the shaft. Lamar Miller a 69 OVR... they guy shoulda been a early second round pick if it wasnt for the injury last year. Doesnt take away from his ability though. I swear with the later round guys EA just slaps a number on them based on the round rather than doing any research whatsoever. Reggie Bush only an 84?

Ridiculous. And people wonder why some people are upset that you can't edit rosters for CCM.

69 OVR actually pretty favorable when compared to the rest of the class as far as OVR is concerned. Unless I missed any other rookies, he's tied with two other RBs for 3rd (Isaiah Pead, Bernard Pierce). Only Trent Richardson(83) and David Wilson (74) are above him...again, unless I missed any other rookies.

However, the somewhat aesthetically unpleasing number is offset by his Speed (94), Acceleration (96), Agility (93) and Carry (86) ratings. That alone makes him a viable threat, and those numbers are much more valuable as a Madden player than the number of his OVR, in my opinion.

I think an 84 for Bush is fair. He's not an elite RB.

Because he was a free agent when the list came out and there are no free agents on the list.
In the last update for Madden 12 he's a 85 OVR with 87 SPD and 95 TRK.

well that should be an update over the backs they have and he should be around same overall with same attributes so packer fans should be happy with that.
