Here are a couple of tidbits:
  • Fans get to vote on some Madden NFL 13 ratings. Nothing outrageous. EA picks candidates and users will vote on specific ratings. Eg. Speed
  • Madden NFL 13 ratings reveal starts Monday with quarterbacks.
  • Team ratings will come at the end. Week1: QBs Week 2: RBs Week 3: WR/TE Week 4: Defense.
  • That leaves O-Line and Special Teams to be revealed on 8/24.
What are your thoughts on how EA Sports is handling the Madden NFL 13 ratings?

Bring back the old way. They have a tendency to fix stuff that isn't broken....only to break it.

Four weeks only equals four positions, smdh. Please excuse if I'm missing something.

I'm glad that Dewiel stepped in and clarified how the voting process was not going to mash-up of random die-hard boosting ratings of their favorite players. I'm always weary when I hear fans are voting on something, so I was happy to hear that.

Additionally, I did like what they mentioned towards the end about there being a rating website that'll display the ratings for all players in late August.

If we take a step back and look, what we're seeing here is what the developers spoke to months ago when they mentioned that they want Madden to revolve around the gamer. I take that as having access to Madden even when on the go or at work. With the web-component accompanying CCM & the inclusion of this ratings website, you're getting access to your game even when not sitting in front of your console.

That's awesome.

Not a gimmick, need to market the game till now till the game drops. This keeps interest up like the fans voting for the cover player.

Why don't they just release the ratings team by team like before? This is stupid. Its like they said forget the defense and offensive line and they're only worrying about the QBs, HBs and WRs

They'll get more mileage out of positional ratings. Fewer people will tune out after their team is revealed.

I don't really know how I feel about this but I'm leaning more towards I don't really like it. They did this a couple years ago where you could vote on the rookie ratings also.

I understand they want people to be involved and I understand they want to keep people enticed until Madden drops but I would have just preferred if they released ratings team by team or something. In the end it's not really a big deal, there's just something that feels weird about it to me.

Who cares if they are dragging this out and marketing. Same people complaining about this would whine if they released all the ratings at once because then there is nothing to look forward to. Bottom line this doesn't change the release date and it keeps us occupied till the game releases.

I don't care about the ratings they are usually meaning less anyway. Not bashing just stating my opinion. What i really wanna know is when is the DEMO releasing.? I think that it is jacked up that NCAA dropped their DEMO a little over a month in advance and the Madden team cant give the fans that same courtesy. I really hope that the game is good this year.

a month is a long time, 2 weeks should be good.

Other thread was closed so will show my post here:

I think they should do it based on scouting reports and measurable data and not some lame marketing gimmicks.

Also, I hate how they try to marketize everything. At the end about the demo he said I don't have the date about when we will tell you the date of the demo comes out.

I would much prefer in depth breakdown of the teams style and plays....outlining a general view of how to attack teams with the weapons they have

akin to what Da Czar did with 2k11

Always excited for the release of player ratings no matter what the game is. I'll surely be tuning in Monday for these.

Updated OP w/ more details.

Team ratings will come at the end. Week1: QBs Week 2: RBs Week 3: WR/TE Week 4: Defense.
That leaves O-Line and Special Teams to be revealed on 8/24.
