Madden NFL 13 News Post

Madden NFL Creative Director, Michael Young asks this question, via Twitter.

Quote:
Which "lesser known" media personalities would you like to see in Madden's virtual twitter feed in the future?

For me, beat reporters from each team, would be a good start, or official Twitter accounts from each individual NFL team.

Who would you like to see?

My bad thought it was just in general not lesser known, in that case probably beat reporters

So I saw Michael Young posted a twitter thread asking "which lesser known personalities would we like to see included in the CC twitter feed in the future? and while he isn't lesser known obviously I would love to see the king of daytime sports talk radio Jim Rome included in the twitter feed in the future.

Although I totally realize this would be hard to do now that he's no longer with ESPN

Would anybody else like to see Van Smack in a future Madden CC twitter feed? do you think it could ever realistically happen?

While he is the pinnacle of annoying, it would be nice to see Rome. Especially seeing as we already have "Mr Tim Tebow is everything!"

And that way David Stern can call in each week and ask him if he still beats his wife?? haha

I would add more players, but I am wondering if there is much back and forth? Like do Kiper and McShay have a twitter "fight"?? Do any of the people tweet each other? It's ashame to hear that only after 3 days, the tweets get repetitive.

To the topic: beat writers are good. In addition to that: how about Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk as an additional news source? Stephen A. Smith to spar with Skip Bayless? Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay to spar over draft prospects? Trent Dilfer to specifically break down different quarterbacks? Steve_OS, just because?

Another cool idea would be if you could tweet at your league's linked Twitter account and then have those tweets show up in the game. That way anyone playing within an online CCM could see communication and trash talk through the game.

This is pretty much why I was saying it probably should have been something connected to the online dynasty website, but as far as in the game, just a means of showing those things via a tap-in menu (but only if you're logged online, of course). It seems they could have done so much more with it in terms of the immersion they speak of compared to having just the disc based algorithim/program.

I mean, as annoying as anyone can be on twitter, imagine your buddies being able to smack talk you and it showing up on your game.

Boo hoo. It adds immersion to a mode that people wanted immersion in. Yes gameplay is a priority, but if Franchise mode sucks, a lot of people won't play Madden. They go hand in hand

I hear ya, both both games the same guy is in charge.

Rob Lowe should be in and he should only post false rumors.

Not a fan of the twitter feature however, an official team feed that could be personally created by the player would be nice.

I think having the generic database would be cool so that the feature remains used in an offline CCM, but allow the player to override the feed with their own custom remark about a transaction, game, award etc (Also, if implemented the Commissioner should have the ability to edit for content control. I would not want somebody beating the censors, having to boot them and then me not being able to remove, or edit it).

You know what would make me feel "immersed" in a franchise? A rookie class that actually came from NCAA. Players that I could actually edit to reflect their real life counterpart. I could go on but I won't...But hey guess what? We got Adam Shefter tweeting in the game!!! YES!!!! *facepalm*
please stop, at least they're adding cool new innovative things and are actually TRYING to create a better football game experience. And if they had included NCAA import into this years game it most likely would have been broken or glitched and people like you would have found reasons to bitch about that too so just give it a rest.

# 53 cuttingteeth @ 07/06/12 04:34 PM
What if it allowed you to mouth off back to the ESPN fools, and then a whole tirade got started that may or may not have you traded to the worst team out of spite?

I would love to see @ESPNStatInfo to provide user with obscure stats.

I never used the import feature, I play online pretty much exclusively. And of course there's a chance it might be broken as with every new feature in Madden but for this year this is what they've given us so we might as well just accept it and move on.

stop twisting my words, I meant ACCEPT the features which have been included and stop complaining about things that didn't make it in this year until we start talking about Madden 14 because nothing new is going to be added at this point in the cycle other then gameplay tweeks to features which are already programmed into the game. There's not going to be any NCAA import added, no ability to utilize custom playbooks online, etc.

I'm in no way saying we should accept broken features and to suggest that this was my statement leads me to believe that you are dyslexic or just didn't fully read or comprehend the statement before you responded.

# 57 moneal2001 @ 07/06/12 09:14 PM
@Strawhat he was saying we don't know if its broken yet. also can't make anyone aware of issues that you don't know exist. gotta stop complaining about _________ not making in this year while twitter did. people complaining that their key feature got left out ain't gonna change anything this year, and this thread isn't the place to try and change it in the future.

ea has a site for that. people like the one davidd quoted need to use that instead of making up reasons to hate a new feature in a thread asking how to make that new feature better.

Here's my list:
-The Sklar Brothers (of Cheap Seats fame, @SklarBrothers)
-The Onion Sports Network (@OnionSports)
-Team Accounts (If you run the team, you should run their twitter, too)
-Beat Writers
-Rich Eisen (If he's not already in, @richeisen)
-Bill Simmons (@sportsguy33)
-Coaches that have twitters
-Warren Sapp (@qbkilla)
-Chad Johnson (@ochocinco)
-Mike Mayock (@MikeMayock1)
-Arian Foster (@arianfoster, best twitter account in the universe)
-randomly generated people that only appear in the Trending Topics

Also, I think it would be nice if we could pick who to follow and who not to follow. For example, as someone who exclusively uses the Texans, I don't need to see the 49ers' beat writer in my feed.

# 59 mrprice33 @ 07/06/12 11:02 PM
Current players would be tough. It would be hard to make them interesting without devolving into parody.

Honestly, Bill Simmons should be a HUGE part of the presentation of this game. Podcasts ala the Tony Bruno show, tweets, etc should all be a part of the game. That dude LOVES madden, and I'm sure would be crazy about it.

That's fine, but that isn't what this thread is about. If you don't want to contribute to this discussion, don't post in this thread.
