NBA 2K13 News Post

Today I want to look at how the NBA draft will affect NBA 2K12 and NBA 2K13. In this mock draft, the focus is on the best player for each team from the point of view of the gamer. Which player will add the most to your favorite team in NBA 2K? This is not how each team will or should draft, this is a mock showing how each player might fit best with an NBA team. With a little bit of speculation on how each rookie might be rated in 2K13, check out this mock draft…

MKG is a lock to go to the Bobcats, he moved down there last weekend. (I know cause I live near him)

Rivers won't go in the first ten picks it's too many other good players that will jump him and he won't bring much to any team IMO he's not that athletic to get to the basket in the Pro's to be honest it might be 4 or 5 years before Austin contributes to any team in the Pro's. Also New Orleans will probably get Jones to go along with Davis. That gives you youth, athleticism, and scoring coming out of the front court. Gordon will stay if they can put a team around him.

What about Jared Cunningham from Oregon State?
I have my own opinions, but what do you think?

And I'm praying the Blazers wake up and take Wroten.

Fab Melo with a "A" potential is a joke.

It's not meant to be an accurate NBA Mock Draft. It's a mock for the purposes of NBA 2K12/2K13.

Why does everyone say Zeller has a "lack of athleticism?" He's one of the best big men in the country at running the court. Sure he can't jump too great, but he's a 7 footer with plenty of speed (ESPECIALLY for his size).

Why does Detroit need Jeremy Lamb? They already have Rodney Stuckry and Ben Gordon, both of whom are rated 70+ OVR and are under 30 years old.

No offense to who wrote this, but this is a pretty bad mock draft even considering what each team needs for NBA 2K13 from a gamer's perspective. Why would the NBA 2K Hornets pick Austin Rivers when they have Eric Gordon? Golden State picks Jared Sullenger (who is at best, a Boozer clone) when they have David Lee? Kidd-Gilchrist for Sacramento when the Kings already have a scorer at the 3 in Tyreke Evans? And another ridiculous one, since I'm a Bulls fan, is the Bulls picking Scott Machado and that being good for 2K. That would be terrible. If this is how the draft went in NBA 2K, I'd hit the reset button, lol.

MKG is the real deal in this draft. Anthony Davis will be a BUST. (check this again after 3 years)

This mock is....different lol. Very inaccurate in my opinion, but I love some of the picks he had favored for specific teams.

I read this but it is hard to distinguish who I would pick as a gamer over the actual team. In 2k you can turn average players into stars. The success rate in the game will always be greater than real life because it would not be as fun. There will also be more trades. 1-5 players selected is probably right at 6 Portland would take a center over Marshall. They have an aging Joel Przybilla and no centers worth mentioning

If you ask the "experts," this draft is supposed to be one of the deepest and best the league has had in a few years.

I'm not really going to make my own mock draft, but Arnett Moultrie (Mississippi State) will be rising up draft boards between now and draft night. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being a late lottery pick, or worst case in the 15-18 range. Another athletic power forward who could be in the 18-24 range is Andrew Nicholson of St. Bonaventure.
