Madden NFL 13 News Post

The Madden NFL 13 presentation team had some lofty goals this year.

World Class presentation was No. 1 on their list. Everything that has been done in the past has been taken to the next level, as the new broadcast team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms comes to life, making it look and sound as realistic as possible. The new Connected Careers mode (details coming June 4) wouldn’t be complete without them, keeping the presentation realistic.

For anyone that was wondering about this when they saw this lineup screen I just received a tweet from @Mysportsphotog when I asked him about having lineups tiered by their position. Glad they are fixing it this year

Michael Young ‏ @MYsportsPhotog
@jpdavis1982 lineups are tiered this year

This generation is a lost and im hoping that next-gen we can get all that we desire from somebody.
There was a stat overlay at halftime and they said the announcers would talk about the stats.

Plus, Fletch, Madden doesn't need to be 2k JR, they should be able to stand on their own, better late than never.

There will be analysis and stats breakdown, I'm guessing you didn't watch the presentation webcast

I liked what I saw with presentation. I really wasn't expecting a number of things to be introduced this year. I was kind of leaning on a NCAA only year but I don't know... my eyes and ears are open EA.

I think you are out of touch. Did you listen to the podcast? They said that Jim and Phil talk about the replays and break down the stats at halftime.

And just because there is no full blown halftime show, this generation is lost? I think the presentation is going to out do 2k5. I know it took 8 years but that isn't the point. They have finally outdone 2k5 and have set the bar, presentation wise.

u are out of touch if u think madden is the standard for anything at this point in the game. Yes this montage is a joke and no it still havent equalled NFL2k5 on that level. After 8 years it should, but havent. Madden is not the standard, so dont get it twisted. It is the point that they are baby-stepping it with things and needs to be called out on it. They are getting better, but it wont be complete if any until next-gen consoles.
Go take your agenda elsewhere, we all know where the this game vs that game gets you, banned. Most of us are liking what we see and looking forward to seeing more, if you're not that's your opinion which you are entitled to, but give us an honest opinion not 2k fanboy bs.

And Ad, as I said a few post ago, Madden doesn't need to carbon copy 2k5 in every detail. Heck the mother of all presentation basketball games has stats and analysis.

Let's see how this all shakes out before we turn gloom and doom.

Uh-oh, just seen a vid of Phil and Jim in the same suits doing a Bears/Packers game as they are in that Niners game. EA can't do that, for real, if they are going to be showing these two in the booth each time we play a game. I HOPE those suits are just place holders to get out these first vids and the suits will be varied for each game throughout the season.

Some people will never be happy at whatever EA does. The game was great for its time and generation. The debate between the two games has gone on far enough just move on.

The presentation part made me excited for May 14th. I want to see how the audio goes.

Well that would involve her recording those segments a ton of times in different clothes...

I'd say having different combinations for people who are entirely animated is far more plausible. It's not something that would bug me at all though if they didn't.

Looks good so far. Still don't like how the QB slides during drop back.
I'm intrigued though.

He steps in front of a wayward pass for the I-N-T for what may have been a possible momentum shifter.

By looking at [the turnovers/total yards/passing yards/rushing yards/Time of Possession/etc] you would think Team A would be WAY AHEAD on the scoreboard, but somehow have let TEAM B stick with them.

Those are two bits that play all the time for the half time show in 2k. No real variety there... but I di like that various plays had commentary associated with them, and they knew when a play was important.... and how the drive ended. Sometimes they would say "Player A make the catch and that's not enough as he rips off NUMBER of yards... but the drive would stall out/they would settle for a FG"

I just really liked watching replays of the half with some commentary even though it was repetitive. Madden 10's half time show was a joke. It didn't even have memorable music. Just bland.

In checking out a preview, Nantz and Simms were flawless. Nantz opens with “Candlestick Park, a stadium that has housed numerous championship teams, plays host to a matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers.” He then leads into his standard “Hello friends” intro, as he talks about how the intensity is ratcheted up in a divisional game, then brings Phil Simms into the conversation. Simms chimes in with his analysis, talking about how different it is and how both teams are fired up. They both talk about the respect the coaches have for each other. Then Nantz wraps it up, as they head to the field for kickoff.

All the visual stuff sounds good, and the addition a digital version of Nantz/Sims is pretty cool...but the above paragraph is a complete buzzkill for me. If they just generically throw out things like "these two teams are division rivals" and don't specifically address the team/player/coaches names in the banter...it's just as bad as it's always been. Just reminds me of the horrible generic Collinsworth pre-game comments like "these two quarterbacks know each other well..." with no mention of their names or of specifics about past match-ups (W-L record vs. each other, etc...)

So do i but are we going to get it or wait until next year?

# 77 raidertiger @ 04/26/12 06:55 AM
Looks good but to me it will be the same unless the crowd is better. I want dynamic reactions, emotion with a game winning touchdown, booing the player who left on bad terms during introductions, starting chants etc. That is true presentation.

Do you think that they will eventually have multiple broadcast teams in... as we now have the top team from CBS. I don't think that it would be too difficult to add FOX, TNF, SNF, and MNF crews.

Things look great and I cant wait for more info I just wish they showed the elements like rain and snow and if they took that weird blueish hue or having the field covered during snow still looked kind of weird to me imo.
