Was that ground rule double (first hit) an error? At first, I thought it was caught...
No...it was definitely over his glove...
But ....his reaction to the GRD was a bit too quick. He never went after it(because the game told him it was a GRD).....a little weird.

Yeah, it looked like it was only a GRD because he slowed down. It definitely looked catchable.

Well...I think it was a misplay...a decent one.......but the game "tells" the player it is a GRD kicks in the animation too quickly(in this instance) and it makes it look a little funny....like..
"oh...it got by me...it's definitely going over the fence...I'll just la-di-da."
Yeah after he misplayed it, he should have definitely ran after it, until it actually hit out of play. And then, should have picked it up since it came back onto the field... and let the umpires make the GRD call.
Goes back to the CPU "telling" the player (prematurely) the calculated result. I'm sure the runner reacted the same... I think it's just hard to get a computer to think "slow", or reactionary LOL.
I'm really hoping that the difference in fielder ability isn't played out in a "missed the ball" type of way. In my opinion the difference in skill at fielding should be in the type of angle and the speed and precision to get to where the ball is (including decisiveness).
So far I'm concerned that all players get to the ball but only misjudge the spot and the only difference we'll see will be a guy whiffing or missing the ball (mainly in the outfield).
Nice to see Jays in a gameplay video for once, but I wish they'd show a gameplay video from Rogers Centre, especially since Bautista is on the canadian cover, so they should show the stadium that he's hit dozens of Bautista Bombs in.

I agree with this but the indication is incorporating that type of uncertainty isn't as easy as we think... the reason why the ball off the wall has always been fielded perfectly in the past.

They is actually a fellow OS member who is filming these at a Best Buy kiosk. This isn't SCEA putting out these videos.
