NCAA Football 13 News Post

Based off a tweet from @1660ESPN, it looks like RG III will be the NCAA Football 13 cover athlete. Let's hope it is not up to vote again this year, with multiple candidates.

With a photo shoot in the offing, I can confirm that Robert Griffin III will be on the cover of EA Sports NCAA Football 2013 this year.

Since this is a spil-over from what I posted to MadSkillz in sarcasm, we have to remember that when we are talking about a QB like MG3 in respect to this game, he has to be classified as a "Scrambler" because of how they've coded/programmed the game to "ATTEMPT" to make him scramble.

As is, in the current programming structure dealing with mobile QB's, his 699 rushing would not translate into the game, thus making him just a Pocket Passer QB because of the 4,000+ passing yards.
The game is programmed to be QB pass happy.

With Skillz being the lead voice for some time concerning Dual Threat Scrambling QB's by the CPU actually doing such, it seemed interesting that they would put MG3 as one of the cover athlete's (stat semantics aside) with a big "?" on if they've fixed/redone the programming to actually make a guy like MG3 scramble/buy time to pass.

That's were all this kind'a came from.

Give us Dual Threat Scrambling CPU QB's, or give us Death!

Who is MG3?

They did, last cover. It could be the love in the rankings you get. Bama shouldn't have been there IDC if they won. OkSt's resume was better and the only reason they lose was the tragedy. Teams who don't win their conference have no business in NC games

This was the best choice for the '13 cover imo.

Hopefully choosing a dual threat QB doesn't mean they focus on offensive gimmicks for gameplay when there are clearly things to fix in the foundation.

So hopefully EA puts up a highlight series for each of the candidates to help out the younger generation. If not, we going to be hearing a whole lot of who is that ?????? I need to google him or even worse.....they going to be too lazy to google and just vote on the school they came from instead of the actual player and what they did in college football.
That's usually how I trash talk to my UGA friends. They weren't even alive the last time UGA dominated college football. But they will sure as heck claim that era like their own because they have nothing else to fall back on. It's a what have you done for me lately world.

McFadden, Tebus, and Ingram have all been cover athletes during this run.

I think the SEC "honors itself" enough as it is.

That's All-Big XII defensive end Jamie Blatnick on the right. He had done a summer internship with the women's basketball strength and conditioning staff before the season, but ended up getting really attached to everyone in the program. Coach Budke liked him so much he gave him a spot on the bench for the season. Blatnick was obviously the closest to him, but with him there, a lot of players would drop by and ended up getting to know Budke a lot closer than they would have otherwise.

And look, I'm not going to use the death of 4 people as an excuse to lose a football game. I find that very disrespectful to them. I just wanted to point out that there was a connection between football and the women's basketball program.

As far as the resumes are concerned, I haven't looked at this after the final polls, but after the last week of the season:

Wins over Top 25 teams:
OSU - 5 Ala - 2

Wins over Top 50 teams:
OSU - 7 Ala - 5

Wins over FBS Teams w/ winning records:
OSU - 6 Ala - 3

Finish in conference:
OSU - Big XII Champs Ala - 2nd in West Division

Alabama had a great team this year and they made the most of their opportunity. It's just frustrating that the BCS preaches "body of work," but then suddenly it comes down to just one game. In short, OSU's argument was based on who we beat, Alabama's argument was based on who they lost to. But, no excuses, we lost a game we shouldn't have. Simple as that. We still had a great season, had a fantastic finish against a really impressive Stanford team, and have the opportunity to keep the momentum going this season. Life goes on.

They had an All-Conference D-end? Doesn't that say enough about the defenses that are played in the Big 12?
Went ahead and fixed your post for you. You're welcome.

I seriously don't even know why I bother with these people anymore. Even when you try to credit them and be civil, they feel the need to try to back-hand you in some way.

Yeah, there's a lot of crying in there. And certainly your smart little comment to the extent of "OSU had an All-Big XII player on defense! The Big XII must really suck," certainly wasn't intended as any kind of disparaging remark.

Don't insult my intelligence. At least own up to what you say.

The voting thing last year was just a way for EA to avoid putting Cam on the cover because of the wild accusations about him and frankly I'm surprised he's not in the running for the Heisman spot this year. Not that it matters too much since I haven't bought NCAA since 2010. I do hope they make a good game one day.

RG3 was the correct and logical choice this year. He's going to help out some team at the next level. He's a great athlete.

# 76 Gap Integrity @ 02/29/12 06:52 PM
Waiting for EA to put Pat Tillman on the cover.

# 77 TreyDobbs @ 03/01/12 12:53 AM
RG3 obviously deserves it, but so does Cam Newton. It was a joke last year with Ingram on the cover and Cam not even being in the vote. Obviously it was because of controversy, but Cam should be honored and be put on the cover sometime soon.

# 78 Claw49er @ 03/04/12 12:56 PM
How is RG3 by far better than Andrew Luck

# 79 EAGLESFAN10 @ 03/04/12 01:51 PM
I think Madden and Ncaa need 2 have a offense and defense of player on the cover every year bcause it seems like they always put an offensive player on the cover and they only focus offense ..... so if they put a athlete from both sides of the ball so they can focus on both aspects of the game

NCAA13: RG3 and Mark Barron this is just an example

I know some might not agree so let the critism begin lol
