OOTP 13 News Post

There is some new information circulating regarding the follow-up to one of 2011’s highest rated games, Out of the Park 12.

While I think OOTP12 was an outstanding game (and gave it a 9.5), I don’t think it was perfect. That's especially true if you were new to the series. OOTP is sometimes betrayed a bit by its roots, often looking more like a spreadsheet program than a baseball game.

However, when we break down the new features, OOTP 13 seems to be on track to become a more user-friendly, interesting and ultimately better game.

Also, we posted six new screenshots you can check out here.

I've already pre-ordered this, because it looks pretty damn good. One thing that you didn't mention was the league associations system, which will allow you to set up say 4 regional leagues and have the winners play off for the national title. If that works well it could be very useful.

Every version of OOTP gets better and better. If you love baseball and/or managing a team down to every little detail, buy this game!

I'm looking forward to the interactive storylines, league associations, and expanded playoffs. I've always wanted to create playoffs with first round byes. Hopefully the league associations can lead to a relegation system that so many people have talked about.

I got the game on Friday and it is amazing! The rosters are incredible and the new AI for trades has really improved the overall experience.

The new real time sim is very fun but I am more into the GM/Manager thing. The increase in minor league levels and new redesigned home page make it even easier and increase the depth of the game.

For the money, I don't think there is a better baseball game.

What the game needs, if the developer (it's really just Markus Heinson, or something like that) is serious about growth in his company, is ANIMATION. Folks want to 'see' the action take place. Yes, ultimately it's about the stats and ratings, but animations would certainly be no worse than storyline text.
No Sir. Get with the program. Not every game boils down to graphics. If that's your forte kindly leave now and don't try and speak for anyone but yourself again.

I disagree 100%. When I want my graphics, I play the show. It's a text sim for a reason.

Did I understand correctly that if you order OOTP 13, you get the IPAD app as well? Or am I wrong on that?

I remember reading that if you buy iOOTP12 you get the HD version for iPad free.

I could be wrong though.

This is an ignorant post and all you've done is take cheap shots at the game. Have you even played this release?

Back on topic, I'm really enjoying the pitcher development and the game. Animations are always nice, but if I want to watch/play baseball, I'll play the Show

I usually buy OOTP every other year. I am having a real hard time not pulling the trigger on this version.

Just dropped the cash myself, really enjoying it. I did the demo for 12, and I love the new menu system in 13.
