A member of the 2K Sports Forums have posted some of the MLB 2K12 features.

Quote:
MLB Today Season Mode
For the first time ever, play along with the real-life MLB season AS IT UNFOLDS. Take charge of your favorite team and see how you stack up against the rest of the league over the course of a six month-long season.

Dynamic Tendency System
Just as in real-life, opposing pitchers and hitters will learn your tendencies from one at-bat to the next, challenging you to mix up your approach on both sides of the plate as each game unfolds.

New Throw Meter
A revamped throwing system presents a classic risk vs. reward situation every time you make a play. Will you queue up throws before fielding the ball to save time, or take a moment to set your feet for better accuracy?

Improved My Player Mode
Want to be the next All-Star slugger or ace starter? All-new player types let you decide your path to the Majors. Goals, expectations, ratings and progression are all customized by position and player type.

Soundtrack
Tracks handpicked by SPIN magazine, featuring Cool Kids, Skrillex, The Joy Formidable, Grouplove, My Morning Jacket and more.

Really like feature #1 if it operates like it sounds. All the results are MLB actual except of the games you play? Not sure about the AS IT UNFOLDS as to what that means exactly? Can you only affect the results if you play the game on the day it is played irl or are all of your teams games subject to your results? I guess we'll see, but I like the sound of it.

I'm sorry but when "soundtrack" is in the Top 5 of your feature list, things don't sound super promising.

It's nice to put it down in writing but we heard this info already. I'd like to get some new info or get some quality videos of the game in action.

I'll wait and see how the game UNFOLDS before I get excited. That feature list was *yawn*

Sounds like stuff that I thought was already in the game with the exception of the first and last features.

Yeah, that threw me too. I don't care if your songs are "handpicked by SPIN magazine"...that's just ridiculous.

On the upside, the others on the list all sound like good (albeit vaguely described) features. In particular, the MLB Today season mode sounds a lot like what plenty of people here have claimed to want for some time. I'm curious to see how that plays out.

The My Player nuggets sounds awesome. Player types will be awesome.

# 7 bonannogiovanni @ 02/03/12 07:00 PM
very lowly feature list, not promising at all.

# 8 Graphik @ 02/03/12 07:09 PM
If they add "Everything works as advertised" as a feature, I'd be geeked.

This year everything works as advertised. The 2K team has sat down on countless hours to have everything working as advertised.

This, although 2K11 didn't need a whole lot of improvement to make it an above average baseball game. Although I agree, the 'features' list is a joke. At least they didn't put that stupid contest in the features list though.

I need to hear more specific details about the MLB Today season mode. That does sound interesting.

# 13 Blzer @ 02/03/12 11:09 PM
The season mode definitely intrigues me; that's kind of how I played 2K10 anyway, except it was just exhibition games which kept no record of my previous games.

Looks like a bare-bone year in terms of mode upgrades, but I know deep beneath the surface there are still some good things that just weren't mentioned as "back of the box" features on this list. They might not have added 70 new things, but tidbits such as 80 additional hours of commentary are but probably some of the really nice things they have worked on with this game.

I'm also hoping for some better sounds, but I won't hold my breath on that.

Yeah that is clearly info we already knew, I would love to see some new stuff about the game and gameplay that would be very nice. And the people that think that is it you guys should read up on some of your info because this stuff has been said in interviews with people about the game, just saying. I think someone only posted this stuff on here because 2K hasn't released anything else on the game and they were getting tired of not having new info. They probably wont release new info for awhile which is really aggravating because I am excited for the game every year because Madden gets old when it gets time to be baseball season and I love playing baseball games. So I would look forward to more stuff being released but not for a couple of weeks. 1 month 3 days until MLB 2K!!!

And they should take the My Player completely out/off the game and worry about the other problems with the game, yea I understand people like the mode but the game could be better without it because that means the can focus on the parts of the game that matters and not upgrading something that should not be on the game if its going to take away from the other parts of the game.

Gotta disagree. I enjoy My Player, and with the right upgrades it could really be a very solid mode.

Agreed.

And in regards to sounds, you surely love hearing "see ya!" every time there's a deep fly (year after year)! They absolutely must keep that in!

# 18 cmidd @ 02/04/12 03:35 AM
Ok, Crystal Dynamics, soundtracks are not features, you could've kept the soundtrack and menu system from last year and made us all much happier.

# 19 Bulls321974 @ 02/04/12 09:31 AM
Very disappointing. That's all I have to say...

# 20 Watson @ 02/04/12 10:18 AM
1) The soundtrack is a feature?
2) Skrillex? Dubstep? REALLY? If I get this, I know what I'm turning off.
3) The Cool Kids still make music?
