Meh... I'm uploading my own music this year, like I do every year. Nothing here draws me in, but as always 1 or 2 songs will grow on me somehow and I'll end up downloading them lol

How come never at least 1 or 2 mainstream songs (of any genre, new or older)? Do all songs have to give publicity to lesser-known artists? Just curious!

I mean, econoodle ISN'T WRONG. It looks the exact same, well the info box part does anyway.

That being said, I don't see why it's of an importance. How often do you even look at that screen? Once when you first get the game to "deselect" certain songs? I don't see the reason to care enough to change it.

I think he just meant the overall look is the same, especially the font, which I haven't seen changed in about seven years, but it's still readable so it's all good.

you say it isnt the same skeleton, which means u guys redid it from scratch?
then why does it look so similar?

wondering why a simple revamp of the menus hasnt happened yet.

not talking background, but the info box.
plus the bottom left thing is the same, with the hitting select to pick the other options. not a huge deal, but just pointing it out.

r u saying after seeing those two pics side by side, thatthis is an all new style? not a variation of the last few years?
i cant agree that its all new. Honestly, if people looked at both, they would agree.

anyways, i like others was hoping for some BRAND new menus after seeing basically the same look with slight variations for the duration of the ps3 era.

its a small detail that gives the game a whole fresh new look.
especially when asking 60 bucks, giving the game a new look visually in the front end and menus goes a little bit of a way to give u the feeling of something new.

plus the menus have a hitch, where it plays that sound when you clikc on something and then there's a delay. maybe a new design would eliminate that.

most other sports games this gen if not all change the menus every year as do sports networks.
so russ if u will, what do u think is different bout that menu as opposed to last years or the year before?
EDIT: ADDED PICS

Sarcasm the smiley faces weren't included in the post for some reason. I was being sarcastic.

But anyway if someone doesn't spend 60 bucks on the game because of the menus. Well I got nothing

I always turn off the soundtrack. Stadium music is all the music I want to hear during a ballgame. I get bombarded with music everywhere I go.

It can go both ways... User interface often stays one way for a reason... from the usability stand point, changing it may just end up confusing and/or add unnecessary relearning for users. (Where is that X icon to do Y!!!!????)

I really hated how Google changed its look for Gmail, etc. Yes it looked new but just about everything I was used to changed, spend some time relearning how some things work, etc... And even after all that I still hated it because it just didn't provide the information where I was used to seeing. Just a waste of time.

To be fair, it's cheaper for them, but it gives some of these bands some really good exposure. There have been some songs that I've downloaded because I've heard them on the Show, and the majority of the songs are really good.

This year though... I might have to upload some of my music to supplement the menu.

Russ, in all fairness, i never said people wouldn't buy the game because of the menus.
I stated that for 60 bucks, doing something as simple as changing the front end design and menus every year or other year goes a long way in giving the user a fresh look and at times the feeling of it truly being new.
Its used to give the consumer the impression of 'newness'. Which helps them in feeling for the price they are getting a different product then the year before.
there were some who even felt going with Mauer two years in a row gave the game a feeling of 'Show 10.5'. So mentally things like that do have an effect on the buyer.
Especially in sports games where for the most part, graphically or feature wise they arent TOTALLY different year to year.
Overlays and menus are an easy change to implement to give off a freshness.

Also, i am confused, what was sarcasm?

great point nomo.
your absolutely right.

but in this case, many would say, the shows menus and Ui are NOT user friendly, at least for a game that has so much to navigate.

I mean, the franchise menus are NOT what I would call easy to navigate.
Not talking about the drop down boxes, but everything else.
Out of all the sports games i own, including a few ps2 classics, the Shows franchise menu is by far the most cluttered.
it could stand a refresh.

I'd have to figure out how to do it but I have about 150 baseball related interviews, highlights and songs, spanning the 40's to present day. Team themes, tribute songs, hall or fame speeches, etc. etc. I'd like to upload them somehow so people can just download the file package.
It immerses u in the vibe of the boys of summer, much like NFL Films music did for the madden menus.

I must agree, besides the fact if you like the look/style or not (I find it to be a sort of corporate look instead of a sports look) I never really found the menu's easy to navigate either.

Not to glorify the MVP series again but their style felt more baseball!

There are probable better examples but this was the only one I could Google up

agreed, i loved MVPs baseball feel to the menus. i mean look how clean that is, seriously.

My girlfriend said the same thing u did about the shows menus a few years back, it looked futuristic and corporate but didn't look like a baseball games menus should look.
she also has seem me play a ton of MVP.

Right... but that's a wishlist item and we just need to convey what makes it hard to navigate and how things could be improved at other opportunities. Just that they don't have to change the look for the sake of changing it, at least not when the same amount of effort could be directed elsewhere for a better effect.

I have relayed to them that the language used to explain things in the game and the style/ navigation seemed to be from more of a programmers perspective then it was from a users perspective. Navigation can be a challenge in this game and I think a lot of things are assumed the user knows when in reality you have to design it in a way that everyone is maneuvering around the game for the first time.

What does this have to do with the soundtrack?

Please stop sidetracking threads - you're doing this constantly and it's getting old.

Atmosphere is an underground hip-hop group (Slug & Ant)

I am part of their extremely large cult following!

Oh and they're only underground because they choose to be that way...they actually made it in the top 10 with an album release. They are all over social media as well. Here's the song "She's Enough"

hopefully there's some random indie band in this soundtrack list I've never heard of and I'll fall in love.....most likely i'll just put on my soundtrack of Fader, No Hands, and Super Bass

Black Keys are not bad. Pretty good. My girlfriend has a stark contrast in music taste than I do. I am more into heavier rock and metal. But listen to anything. She loves The Killers, Muse, Kings of Leon, Yeasayer, etc. They are in line with that style.

One thing I like about The Show is that you never know who is going to be on the soundtrack. In addition to what you can put in yourself, sometimes you find yourself liking some of the songs (I few of them are catchy and have found themselves in my own list since then, i.e. The Grouch and Eligh - All In).

It's a matter of personal preference, but I always like to discover bands, artists, and musicians I've never heard of along with putting stuff I'm more familiar with.
