The most impossible team to rebuild is Toronto Raptors. Good luck with them. They have no real talent whatsoever.
The Raptors are the hardest team to rebuild, but they do have talent. Bargnani, Bayless and DeRozan are the 3 players you want to build around. Bayless and DeRozan especially because they are young and have a good potential rating. I traded Calderon based on his age and contract. Was able to get Henrich in return, he's a decent backup to Bayless and has an expiring contract. You then need to try and dump anyone with contracts longer then 1-2 years. Completely rebuild in the draft and through Free Agency. I plan on drafting Austin Rivers to complement Bayless and DeRozan and then after some building I will be in a position to trade for some stars and make a run. To rebuild the Raptors you have to be content with losing, and getting good young draft picks.
Just started the association with them today. Starting 5 is Kyrie, Klay Thompson, Austin Daye, Jamison, and Jordan Hill
my bench is: Daniel Gibson, Anthony Parker, Yi , Tristan, and Hasheem Thabeet.
our record sucks, as expected, but I'm excited to see what the future holds. Im really excited about Klay Thompson, a 6'7" 3 pt specialist. I cant use Tristan Thompson very well, though
Started out with my association, haven't traded anyone yet, and am somehow sitting at five and two in second place behind the heat. Current game is the first against the Heat, I'm down by four just before the half. Depending on the result of this one, going to try and see who to weed out or trade after this.
I feel like it's pretty easy to rebuild teams in this game. My starting 5 is Kyrie, James Harden, Landry Fields, Kevin Love, and Andre Drummond. Ryan anderson, calderon, gary neal, big baby off the bench. Now why in the world would Harden and Love choose to play at Cleveland? I got them off free agency not really expecting them to sign.
made 3 solid trades. first traded thompson and 2nd rder for thaddeus young and 2nd rder. next traded varejao and sessonsions for jj redick chris duhon and 1st and 2nd rder. finally traded jamison and gee for jordan hill luis scola jeff adrian and 2nd rder
I'm currently in the process of rebuilding the Cavs, and I wasn't even paying that close of attention to the few moves I made last season, but going into my second season my entire roster pretty much has been turned.
Midway throughout the first season I was offered Kenneth Faried & Javale McGee for Tristan Thompson and my 2013 first RD pick. I negotiated, and we traded 2013 first RD picks, and I picked up Faried & McGee for Thompson.
I had 5 guys go to Free Agency, and in the draft the Celtics offered their #20 pick & their 2013 2nd rd pick & Jajuan Johnson for Antawn Jamison & Anderson Varejao and my 2nd rd pick. I was ecstatic, as I was looking to get rid of those two anyways. (Their performance was pure garbage last season)
I ended up drafting Harrison Barnes with the 2nd pick of the draft, and Tyler Zeller with the 20th.
Seeing as I lost a good portion of my team to free agency, I picked up Gilbert Arenas as a back-up to Kyrie. I also picked up Spencer Hawes due to the fact that Javale McGee keeps getting injured. And I picked up JR Smith because I only had one 2.
This is my current starting 5:
1. Kyrie Irving
2. JR Smith
3. Harrison Barnes
4. Kenneth Faried
5. Javale McGee
I know it's not realistic at all, and my team chemistry is only at 11% right now, but I'm having a good time with this team.
Although due to the fact that this would never happen (I didn't pay that close of attention to my moves throughout the season) I may start over.
I run a 30-team Association, which includes the 2012 draft class. After my first season, Cleveland ended up winning the lottery and obviously I took Anthony Davis. Later in the first round, I picked Tony Wroten for them. Then I made a big free agent splash with them soon after by signing both O.J. Mayo and Michael Beasley. My Association's 2012-13 Cavs look like this:
C: Anderson Varejao / Semih Erden
PF: Anthony Davis / Tristan Thompson
SF: Michael Beasley / Omri Casspi
SG: O.J. Mayo / Jodie Meeks
PG: Kyrie Irving / Tony Wroten
