In speaking to Gamesradar, Eric Boenisch mentions the possibility of something arriving on Christmas Day, for NBA 2K12. What do you think it might be?
Quote:
“Dedicated” is the operative word here. While most of us will be kicking back with family and friends, a healthy portion of the NBA 2K12 development team will be hard at work on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, Mr. Boenisch wouldn’t give up the goods about any special surprises for the legions of fans who’ll boot up the game that day.
“We have some things cooking,” he says coyly. “But you’ll just have to wait to see for yourself! We’ll be enjoying Christmas, but if NBA basketball is being played then we’re working.”
Ronnie emailed me in response to an inquiry about re-loading CAPs that were in the game before and who are still registered in the NBAPA. Players like Ruffin, Hughes, CAPs like Bonzi Wells and so forth. Ronnie mention that they were working on not just adding rookies but expanding the free agent list and making somewhat of a super roster for play. Now, wether they will have players currently in China is another story....becuz here lies the problem. Im pretty sure im not alone but I would have already started editing my rosters for my season play without the China deports, and suddenly they come back in say February or March and now I have to create a cap or start my roster edits all over. Sucks!!! So it will be pleasing if they just happen to put all and every free agent in there and let us go from there. But we are certainly in store for something.
Let's think people - if it was more DLC or another game mode, wouldn't you think they would announce it ahead of time in order to maximize sales before Christmas? It's probably just Christmas Day jerseys and presentation, and I'm sure we'll get tens of threads from people complaining about what it's not.
I get the feeling it's going to be throwback courts for the Buffalo Braves, Kansas City-Omaha Kings, New Orleans Jazz, San Diego Clippers and Capital Bullets.
i hope take off that basketball song off the start of the game. i would be fine with that x mas present.
No doubt huh. I would paid a dollar or two extra if games didn't do that. For example, i cannot skip EA intros fast enough for the "If its in the game crap".

So that totals 38 players in which are missing and will need to be added in future roster updates.
19 of them are 2nd round rookies who are already on the disc, the rest are either players who played in the NBA previously (Hughes,C.Johnson,Pendergraph,Tinsley) or undrafted rookies (Stone,M.Thompson etc.) all if which should be the first priority before anything else.
I know it takes time to rate each player, but in the same breath a consistent argument could be made, that the two most important features in an NBA game are Gameplay and accurate team representation (Player cyber faces correct,Rosters accurate as of real NBA, Accessory updates). I feel like 2K has done a much better job than in years past and hopefully with my continued efforts to update a list of changes, the team will be able to utilize those changes and in fact deliver a near flawless roster by the end of next week.
I think it's commentary update. They'll talk about lock-out, trades etc.
It's possible because this year we have a file named online data which is 128mb.
Just checked out the 12/25 roster update from 2K. Not ONE new player was added to the game.
The only noticeable change was the fact that hurt players (like Brook Lopez) are now un-useable in play now games.
Oh and there was some player movement. So glad 2K has prioritized player movement, because it is not like we can't assign players to different teams on our own.
