NBA 2K11 News Post

It looks like the Developers were listening to the community. The NBA 2K11 servers will remain online until April, 2012.

Quote:
As outlined in the NBA 2K11 manual, online multiplayer support for NBA 2K11 was scheduled to be turned off in November 2011, but 2K Sports has decided to leave servers for NBA 2K11 on until April, 2012.

Here is the list of games that are currently functional as of 12/1/2011:

NBA 2K12 and NBA 2K11 / MLB 2K11
NHL 2K11 (Wii), NHL 2K10 (360/PS3)
All Last Edition Titles (Top Spin 4, BIGS 2, etc.)
All Series With No Revision - NFL 2K5, APF 2K8, CH 2K8

For the discontinued 2K10 and prior 360 titles, match making and leaderboards on LIVE will still be available, but the additional features we offer (leagues, sports ticker, lobbies) will not be available.

2KSports site says it s under maintenance. Hopefully, NBA2K.com is on the verge of being released?

Anyway, good job of extending the date.

Please don't tell me you're serious.

It's thinking like this why I hope the developers don't listen at times. It's not "complaining" that makes a difference. Nowhere close.

Traded 2k11 in for no reason... Excellent

Ronnie just hit the twittersphere with the news as well.

I don't pay attention to people who complain on Twitter or Facebook. Sorry.

Ha - Twitter is useful to an extent. Depends on how you use it.

The servers should be on until 2k13 for both 11 and 12

Nfl2k5? Really??

# 12 Pared @ 11/11/11 09:27 AM
Not when you don't know the reason behind it. Of course people will claim its to force everyone on 2k12 but thy don't really know why. Unless they say explicitly (which they didn't) then speculation will always lead to a worst case scenario.

What if I told you the drops this year were do to the remaining traffic using the old server because the code conflicted? Speculation on my part but I've seen similar problems in my software/hardware experience.

The point is things aren't always black and white.

I'll try again later. But the last time I tried I wasn't able to get online in that game.

I still tend to agree, though this season I finally had to move on and got Madden 12. I'm trying to log in now and it still isn't connecting to a server. Think this may have been a typo

2k11 for PS2 is still working though, so I'm happy about that because I haven't been able to play a game one line on ps3 2k12 ever sine i bought it

I thought XBox Live for original Xbox games was discontinued last year. Is this one the titles with run emulated through the 360?

As far as extending the online deadline, yes! I have played a brief minimum of online games due to the servers not connecting and my work schedule. I need to download the historic rosters. I love 2k11, it's a real good game ... challenging, but rewarding if you're smart.

thanks for this, 2k. having more fun with crew than ever, and it's amazing how many teams are still playing despite it being last years addition. there is no such thing as waiting for a game.
