I was a life long 2k fan but these all the questionable things they have done this year made me lose some respect for them and more so for the lack of pc love

Lets go over this DLC
1) Stupid looking cel shaded
2) "New" Features (Blacktop modes, and roster switching with current/past, legends online) that would have taken no effort to put in the retail game but since alot of people wanted it they know they can sell it for alot of money.
3) New "legends" (George Muresan, Jalen Rose..... really?)

No thanks 2K

Mark Eaton was a game changer on D. I think he won 2 Defensive Player of the Year awards. 85 and 89 I think.(It's been awhile).

Interesting thing on Eaton was he was a very late comer to hoops and didn't even contibute at UCLA. I remember some stat that he only played around 40 minutes total his last year at UCLA. Not because of injury, he just wasn't very good.

Oh God... I hadn't seen the cel-shading before today. That looks awful. If you can't turn off this feature, then I predict a big, fat, steaming pile of fail.

So now we can attempt to do this for the first time since Lakers vs Celtics

BTW, Eaton>>>>>>>Bradley and Muresan. Eaton's skill was he was a shot blocker and defensive force. Bradley's skill was he knew how to fall properly without injuring himself after getting dunked on. Muresan was a glorified circus side show act with a face that looked like a melted candle.

One of the big things I've always remembered about Gheorghe Muresan came from a Sports Illustrated article I read about him wayyy back in the day. I kept the issue for the longest time (with Mo Vaughn on the front). There's a picture of Muresan holding a coke can between his pointer finger and thumb, the way we might hold a wallet-sized senior picture. Amazing.

It's on page 108/109 of the link below (the article has "GIANT" written recognizably large in the thumbnails):

P.S. Comparing Muresan's face to that of a melted candle is genius.

11 pages of around 80% negative comments.......maybe 2k should take a look at the response

and on top of that, how many people analyzed all the "legends" in the game?? is it just me or are most of these players guys from 50/60s, 70s, 80s and 90s East and West squads that 2k10,2k9,2k8,etc. had???? Mikan, Thompson, English, etc. were on those teams, so were Nique, Magic, Bird, Pip, etc. Yes i know they got Jordan and Jabbar, but still.....<<<(slightly off topic but had to be said)

If I'm buying this its only for the classic quick match which is a fantastic addition (should be in the retail though).

That is one of KJ's best dunks in his career. For me it ranks alongside the dunk over Hot Rod Williams he made back in the 1992 season. The one over Hakeen is awesome too but I like the whole happening of this dunk more:

2 George Mikan?

# 93 Spanky @ 11/04/11 10:51 PM
800 Microsoft points = fail.
Cell shading = massive fail.
Inability to use in other modes = colossal fail.
This idea = failure of Biblical proportions.

well that's because he used to contest every shot

Eaton was a shot blocker back in his day...one thing i loved about him was he knew his ability and he what his job required

He took hard fouls inside and nothing was easy with Eaton

So yes he got posterized but he also rejected a lot of shots....guy was a defensive standout and if i'm not mistaken he won a few All Defensive team awards

He was much better than that clown Shawn Bradley who i have no idea why he's on any Legends list

I'm betting Manute Bol's rights were tough to acquire. I think 2K would have loved to have his presence alongside Eaton, Muresan and Bradley. Once again I begin thinking how cool it'd be to run into them during season mode with a mid-90's roster. And I think that's their draw. It's not that they were legendarily skilled, obviously. But they're going to be fun and likely have a direct impact on a game of 3-on-3 or 2-on-2 (and I wish 5-on-5 as a part of their former teams).

Sometimes bringing characters of the game back can be just as fun as the legends. Like bringing back William Perry as a legend in an NFL game, or Bob Probert in an NHL game, or Mark Fydrich in an MLB game.

That's all good and nice, but many people would like the option to turn off the cell shading. I never played Crew, heck, I don't play online OR do My Player, but many others enjoyed it quite a bit, so what's the problem there? There's certainly a demand for it, both in the fanbase, and within 2K itself, they've said that they're still working on getting it right.

Calling people idiots simply for having contrary opinions is not the best way to get your point across.
