My vote is for Napoli or Freese. Pujols...although a legendary player had less than good season by his standards and if not for ONE playoff game where he flexed his chest he really didnt do a whole lot during the whole playoffs.
.299, 37 HRs, 99 RBIs. That's a Hall of Fame caliber mediocre year and shows just how spoiled we all are at his excellence.

Pujols won't be the cover guy because they don't want to have him in a Cards uniform and then sign elsewhere. Granted they likely won't release the cover for a few months, but he could theoretically still be a FA by that time (although not likely).

He won't be a Cub either, so you guys can start letting yourselves down from that one. He knows that if he signs there, he will be forever hated in St. Louis and the good image he has in baseball will be toast. Not only that, but the Cubs won't be contenders for another 3-4 years, so why burn what remaining good years he has left in postseason obscurity? Also, the Cubs exceed the recommended debt to income ratio by MLB (along with the Dodgers, Mets, Tigers, and a handful of others). They will not be big spenders.

As for the topic at hand? I think Verlander or Braun are good guesses.

I say Pujols.

Oh I agree with ya man...he si the best player hands down that ever was IMO...which is why in my statement I said it was down year for HIS standard. Any other player would kill to have his worst stats! LOL Even if he were a cardinal though there are more players that should be on the cover. I mean I would choose berkman/freese over pujols THIS year just because of the season they had. (in freese case its how you finish and I dont think there was anyone better.) I could also see the record setting nellie cruz, or the do everything mike napoli...I could see Matt kemp for sure, but then you would have to include jose bautista. You could also make the case for adrian gonzales with how he batted ALL YEAR in boston as well as the amazing year curtis granderson had. Also its foolish not to include verlander...and of course miggy cabrera.

I think that if not a pitcher it should be Adrian Gonzalez, Jacoby Ellsbury or my favorite Dustin Pedroia.

# 27 ZakDodge15 @ 11/02/11 07:05 PM
Maybe even Matt Kemp.

# 28 ZakDodge15 @ 11/02/11 07:14 PM
Can you guys start talking about wish list for the game cause i have some good ideas?

# 29 brewercrew19 @ 11/02/11 11:21 PM
It's gotta be Braun or Verlander. Jeter/Lincecum/Longoria/Halladay pattern = batter =Braun. That said, it'll probably be Verlander.

# 30 ZakDodge15 @ 11/02/11 11:47 PM
That is a good view on it, but if that is the cause it will probably be Kemp or Ellsbury

I hope it's Kemp.

Because I want Braun to get the cover of the other game.

# 33 ZakDodge15 @ 11/03/11 12:42 AM
One of them will get it, and i kind of hope Ellsbury does because i am a sox fan.

Spoken from a true brewer...verlander actually has a ton of personality. And steel worker? lol as if the hideous mullet braun wore was soooo much better. Verlander deserves it and everyone knows it.

Hey St. Louis, how is that football team of yours doing?...Horrible? OK, thanks.
LOL, wow. Bitter much? Getting bullied too much in the 7th grade, maybe?

It's so cute that Brewers fans talk so much smack like they've got perennial winners. My cousin (who is a Wisconsin native) was talking a lot of trash too during the NLCS but I haven't heard from her since. I did, however, reach out and send her pictures from the World Series parade.

Oh, and psst, St. Louis is a BASEBALL town with as many Chiefs fans as Rams fans. Doesn't matter, football is a minor Winter pastime until pitchers and catchers report. Enjoy that Division title, by the way. With Fielder gone, good luck getting back there. At least if Albert leaves STL, they'll still have a contender.

So facial features matter? DO YOU GUYS SEE HOW SEXY AND HANDSOME BRAUN IS? Should have been on the game....just love that sexy surfer look. Whoa. Girls are not going to buy this game now.

Tough to say the guy who gets so into the game that he screams at the opposing teams players in their dugout has no personality. He's got two sides, the goofy guy on off days lighting shoes on fire in the dugout, but on days he pitches there is nothing but a glare and headphones. I've seen him like that. And get goes out there and pitches like the game is on the line every pitch. He's probably the biggest competitor in baseball today.
