NHL 12 News Post

Before worrying about the finer points of where to aim your butt on a hip check, it's important to understand some of the top-level strategies that you can employ in NHL 12. Many users forget, neglect or are straight-up unaware of the various ways you can manage your lines, on-ice formations or player tendencies. These are the decisions a coach would make, and they can actually make notable differences when you hit the ice.

There's some good tips in here. Thanks for the article. I'd like to see the CPU's line selection stay on the screen a little longer; sometimes it's hard for me to see who they have put out on the ice (if I'm watching a replay).

Great article.. on x360 how do you pull up the faceoff strategies? I know I read that somewhere before?

In HUT try having your 3rd and 4th line as your PK lines. That way you can come back with lines 1 and 2 after a PK.

Hold down the left trigger and while doing so you can use the left stick up, right or down to get the aggressive, normal (or balanced), and defensive face-off sets.

When you are the home team in NHL 11 you can see the other teams line up so you could properly line match.

However, in NHL12, this doesn't happen very often or if at all..so it makes it impossible to line match, the L2/LT + LS to change faceoff strategy is annoying as well.

Anyone else notice the away CPU team doesn't show the line they are putting out?

I noticed this too. Made a thread about it, but nobody posted. I don't think anybody knows.

great article .... plus some tips in regards to the play: Behind-the-net, overload etc.

line matching as some people already mentioned is non-existent in NHL 12. perhaps they will put this in NHL 14 and add it as "new feature"?
