Quick question: If I buy the game from steam, will I be able to use mods?

Two things to be aware of:

1.The online graphics issue remains unsolved:
When playing online the game forces low graphic settings.

2.The Xbox360 shaders still haven't made it to the PC

About patches - the steam version is no different from the others, but at the moment 2K12 is not patchable using current methods, although the community will probably figure it out.

I am somewhat dismayed by issue #2 and VERY disappointed by #1.
I was hoping to become more of an online fiend this year, but it won't be as fun with "NBA Live 2005" graphics.
Since I am mostly an offline player I will still pick up a copy, but I feel disrespected by the devs, overlooking such a major issue.
it is especially very disappointing when comparing this with the level of feedback the X360 and PS3 communities receive. My dollars are just as green.

Sounds like an issue to contact Steam Support about. It seems like they either didn't get the correct info from the publisher, or some idiot at a desk didn't bother to read what he was supposed to be doing.

I'm not sure what you mean by this? Less detailed?

No self shadowing like the console versions. The pc version looks like they are coated in something shiny. Funny thing is that I find the controls for the pc version far more tighter than the console version.

PC version has ZERO loading times....you don't have to wait for the games to load

I agree, I don't see what the big deal on the shaders and so forth, who cares!!!

Controls are fantastic and no load times is a big plus....

I'll just say that 2k12 is amazing. 2k11 had its flaws, but 2k seem to have fixed most of them. I even like how with lower skills, my My Player guy ended up trying to guard the referee and got stuck by the floor cleaner. Once I upped the awareness, those were gone. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the PC controls after playing 2k11 on PS3 mainly (despite owning it on Steam for modding)

I had my doubts about the new CAL mode, but I have to say I love it. I also love the greatest players idea. However....I do have one complaint.

I can't seem to put the game down
