The biggest movers from Week 2 on the positive side are WR Denarius Moore (OAK) with a nine point boost this week (now 73 overall), OL Jason Kelce (PHI) going +5 to 73 overall, QB Matthew Stafford goes up three points to an 85 overall, and HB Ben Tate (HOU) going up 3 points, as well, to a 76 overall.
Some of the biggest movers on the negative side are DB Jon McGraw (from 78 to 75 overall), OL Frank Omiyale (from 71 to 67 overall) and James Sanders (from 82 to 80 overall).
We have a new member in Club 99….Please welcome Dallas Cowboys star linebacker DeMarcus Ware to the most elite club in all of football! No player has more sacks over the last five seasons and Ware is already off to a hot start in 2011 with four sacks. WR Andre Johnson is also getting closer to Club 99, as he moves up one point to 98 overall after a great start to the season.
Is there any way to figure out exactly what ratings were changed to get players to their current rating in the update? I understand that Ware is a 99 now, but what specific stats got changed to make him that way?
no way Stafford should be near a 90 so quickly. If he gets 90+ then so should Ryan Fitzpatrick. Anyways, it's only 2 games people. If he continues to put up numbers and the Lions continue to win games then I'll change my mind. But I'll wait for the Bills/Patriots games this Sunday and the Lions/Packers and Lions/Bears games to reserve judgement on whether or not these two guys are for real or are just having a flash-in-the-pan, Derek Anderson, one-hit wonder type of season so many players have.
The updates to my Ravens are fair, they did not play well last week. I like how Cary Williams went up again. I am eager to see what individual ratings went up for him.
But why did Chris Carr go down? He did not even play last week & is one of our most consistent CBs.
Not sure what Mike Patterson did to lose a point.
At the same time, don't know what Phillip Hunt did to gain a point.
Other than those, nothing surprising for the Eagles.
Also, when will we start to see huge decreases for old free agent players. There are reasons why they aren't on teams right now. I'm tired of starting a franchise and seeing all these ex-players get signed and play like they're 25 years old again.
-Shaun O' Hara (34, 89 OVR) hasn't had a single team visit that I've read about. Coming off two surgeries, he needs a BIG drop.
-Leonard Weaver (28, 87 OVR) I love this guy. I met him once at Eagles training camp, great player and person. That being said, this guy may not be able to play football again. He suffered a horrific injury which resulted in nerve damage. Even if he does play next year, he will never be the same. Sad but he needs a big drop as well.
-Lofa Tatupu (28, 87 OVR) I don't see what was ever so special about this guy, especially in the past 2 seasons. Like O'Hara, this guy hasn't gotten a look from any team and yet there are plenty of teams out there (my Eagles included) that could use good linebacker help. However, this guy isn't that.
-Darren Sharper (35, 83 OVR) has failed numerous workouts, he needs to be a low 70 at this point. He's old and his career is done.
Those are just a few examples but there are 25 80+ OVR players in free agency. Franchise mode has it's own problems with the slow rate decreasing player ratings, but this should be easy. If you aren't good enough to make a team, your OVR should reflect that.
There should be a rule of thumb that any player who can't make a team shouldn't be higher than a 79.
Why would you start a new Franchise after each update?
The updates should have nothing to do with your current Franchise. Keep playing to the off season and they will progress on how you played your season, now how they played in real life.

Stattford will get to 90s by December if not mid season. So will Matt Ryan. Dez Bryant also will if he stays healthy for the rest of the season. They are all underrated IMO.All of those guys will be the best players at their position sooner or later. At least I hope so, they are on my fantasy football team lol (I did tell people Aaron Rodgers was overrated last season and we all know how that turned out).
yea what Sanchez is a 88 and people would have a problem with Stafford at a 90? He had a great start last season too until injury. He has top not accuracy.

well the difference is that Matt Stafford with his weapons actually has a heigh ceiling, and Fitzpatrick is at his high point right now, he lacks the arm of an elite NFL QB
Really not understanding what Donny is doing here, the guy is paid to do this job. This is the first year I've really felt like he's really dropping the ball, I don't care about ratings going up and down or missing equipment changes etc, it's the baffling decisions involving personnel and ignoring things that have needed fixing that people that aren't paid to maintain notice within 5 minutes of getting a new update.
We saw how many guys the game is capable of carrying when the first rosters were released. Yet guys like Cletis Gordon, who was on IR on the Panthers, have vanished in the latest update and he wasn't even taking up a spot on the Panthers since he was on IR. Guys like Jeremiah Johnson, who bounces back and forth on the Broncos practice squad (and was re-signed again before this update was released) but has again vanished from the game. Guys like Ronald Johnson, who has been on the Eagles practice squad since cut day yet still lingers on the free agent list, Roy Williams who retired in August yet is still on the free agent list (strange if there's apparently only so much precious space)
I got hold of the first roster update again a few days ago and it is fantastic the amount of players that are on that update, so many guys that are on practice squads, IR, free agents and the like that for some unknown reason have been removed since. I just really wish I had the time to go through that update and do it myself.
