You didn't talk about the new Hop Steps since Y is post up now. Are the only hopsteps now the ones that automatically go to layups? I loved pressing Y for a quick hop get great position in the post with a post player so how's that going to work this year?
he did say something about that
i think he said LT and left or right of shot stick.
i'm sure it's an animation of hop steps, not hop step lay up, because he said u could do pump fakes after the hops.

Check out the controls insight, he goes in depth regarding this.
I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but I am gonna use the pull up shot and the up and under a lot. Fake the stepback J, and step thru into a nice mid range jumper. That'll work all day. I am gonna pull up a lot on the fast breaks.
It's much easier to perform a half-spin now, you just have to tap RT. In 2K11, it's impossible to consistently perform half-spins from certain angles.
This. The half spin was probably the most difficult move to use in 2k11.

When looking at the controls there were a couple moves i came across where i sat and thought about for about 5 min trying to picture it in my head. They came up with a few names for some moves like running spin shot lol
Hopefully, take charge/flop works correctly this year. In 2K11, offensive fouls from the paint (outside of semi-circle) was almost/completely non-existent.

I'm still trying to figure out what a "spin jumper" looks like. Does it make your player perform a spin gather before shooting, or something else entirely? I'm pretty sure they're not talking about an NBA Street style shot that has your player spin in the air before releasing the ball.

Thats another one i tried to pictures in my head ans still cant figure out what that is
The hop step, my guess, would be a pumpfake hop step layup. Either you can perform the layup, obviously, or you could do the pumpfake, and then it's just like a hop step. I look forward to the up and under's and step through's not performed in the post.
Lateral spin jumpers (actually half-spins) were in 2K11, but this year you can also drive toward the basket and perform a full spin gather into a pull-up jumper. Paul Pierce and lebron use it a lot irl. The side hop jumper has a few variations. Jamal Crawford's cross to hop where he puts the ball behind his back is one. Basically, they're hops or quick iso moves to quickly create space (going either left or right) for the pull-up J. they're similar in nature to the escape dribble pull-ups but from a moving dribble.
