No one is lying...maybe it is making its way across to every server. But what they are saying is right. Go to game demos on the console, go to search....go over to N....then look for NBA 2k12. It should say get trial. If not...it soon will.

Go to GAME MARKETPLACE, SEARCH A-Z, GO TO N, NBA 2K12, wait for page to load in overview and it'll say Get Trial
