Man... I want this game so bad! This is gonna make it a lot easier to get over the football titles this year.

Very nice.

The first thing that stood out was the Kerr commentary. I can already tell that Kerr has the ability to make the video game sound like a real game's commentary. Its also great because I was under the impression that Kerr was replacing Kellogg, who I actually liked. Fortunately, they are keeping all three guys.

Edit: Now that I think about it, the first thing that stood out was the introduction of the players. That was very slick and I think they've found a way to keep it fresh. The menus looked so clean and I'm loving the playcalling screen. Looks like I will be in the lab learning everything possible to torch you guys with D. Rose and Co.

Another thing that stood out were the toned down screens. Last year, it seemed like every time an offensive player set a screen, the defender has to always go through a long 1.5-2.0 second animation to get through the screen. This year, it seems like that animation doesn't always engage AND the 2nd defender makes better decisions on who to defend.

I LOVED the blocks. Looks like the computer will be more aggressive helping in the paint, instead of just watching someone get done up down low. It also looks like they lowered the success rate of the up-and-under down low, which was one of my few problems with 2k11. In 2k11, pretty much anyone could get in the post, pull of the up and under and it was easy points. It was good to see Rondo miss the up and under with a defender that didn't go for the fake.

I'm interested to see what else you guys noticed as the video gets dissected today.

Amazing, when you can have a great time just watching someone else play imagine when you get the controller in your hands! This game is buttery smooth and looks so responsive, come Oct. 4th I'm officially in heaven! Thank you 2K Sports for you hard work and dedication, it shows and will be rewarded!!!

Wow! The pregame presentation was very nice!
The 3 man commentary with Steve Kerr blended very well, really felt like I was listening to a live game.
The paint defense was good!
The crowd and staduim sound effects were great.
The game looks so much smoother than 2K11
My mouth is drooling.....................

wow, the game looks sweet, the 3 man booth is so much welcomed with Kerr, great addition, sounds so much fresh.

game did looks much more polished and great, I can't wait either, I just hope the NBA ends this lock-out because the game to me might be less excited f I know the season will be on hold.

Am I the only one upset when he didn't pass it to Griffin when he was cutting to the basket?

The presentation is very nice in the beginning. Makes you wanna actually watch the beginning of the games now. Jumpshots are very fluid and look really good.

Oct. 4th cant get her soon enough. Great Job 2k!!!!!

Very nice! First thing I noticed were that Eric Gordons shot looks better, Diandre Jordans player model looks noticeably different (long arms and legs) and the cpu seems to be aggressive on find the open jumpers. Layups seem to be smarter as far as choosing the right anim, especially the standing layups.

At a loss for words... so smooth.

love the playcalling with the circles and A coming up to show where the play is going (kinda looks like Live 10).
love the pull up Js, momentum shots, pump fakes, post game, everything really.

commentary was very solid as well as presentation.

cannot wait til Oct 4th!

...hopefully that demo will be dropping Tuesday ((fingers crossed))

This bugs me the most and it plagued 2k11....need to see more to be certain but right now this flaw might be still in there...

That was sweet. 2K giving another piece of physical evidence to shut up those non-sports gamers who cite them as "the same game" every year. Everything about this game seems to top or improve on what was present last year.

Unfortunately this now has to turn into one of THOSE posts. Who is gonna have to be bribed on the dev team to FINALLY get some home/away/alternate accessories in this game. Not a gamebreaker obviously for those who will undoubtedly act like that's what this is saying. It's just a tad on the completely ridiculous side that this hasn't been fixed yet. At the very least allow us to edit other players in My Player and Playoff modes so I don't have to be forced to look at stupid inaccurate uniform combinations like that white headband green bands and black sleeves look they have for the C's here (they rock all white at home for the record)

Other than that, fantastic stuff from 2K and this vid makes the wait for the 4th even harder.

(Of course, I'm ignoring all the fantastic improvements being made. I just expected more from what was being said in terms of the single player experience)
i like how u use sarcasm to get ur point across Pared,u use to get me with em but i have been around long enough to see em like looking at the matrix monitor...lol

The Good:

Presentation. Very original and cool. (All though I've never understood why 2k got rid of the player intro's before a game...when the arena goes dark and each player is introduced.) Player animations seem to be improved. Movements appear smoother than last year. Graphics are much improved...like the fact that Ray Allen doesn't look like an Alien anymore. Commentary is unbelievable...Ibest I've every heard. I also liked the varied speed of the ball coming off the rim. On a long miss, it seemed to bounce off the rim quicker and with more force. Jump shots look smoother as well. Loved how Rondo walked the ball up the court. Love how the ball is dribbled ahead of the PG's now when they run it up the court.

The Bad:

Passing still needs work as well as it still takes too much time for players to get the ball inbounds after a made shot. Would like to see the players have access to run or walk up and down the baseline after a made shot as well...especially if the D is pressing them. Would also like to see the players hold the ball up above their head a little more before making a pass, especially if the D is tight and they are trying to get the ball inside. Crowd also could be more responsive. Would be cool to see the crowd's excitement grow as the game goes on. Most crowds grow louder as the game goes on. The silence after Ray Ray's AND 1 was just awful.

The Ugly:

Being a Celts fan since I was 10, I notice certain things about the court. The parquet square size is too small...the squares should be much bigger and more pronounced. and a little darker. Also, why is there no TD Garden (instead of saying Boston Celtics)? Is it a licensing thing? Also, no Red Auerbach signature on the court. Why is the Celtics court the ONLY one not up to par with the real court?

Legends:

I hope they fix the Celtics stripes on their socks (way too thick)...and if not, if they will allow for accessory changes/fixes so I can fix them. Yes...I know I'm being nitpicky as hell...but I'm OCD so it is what it is.

Wondering:

How much we will be able to modify existing players. IOW- Last year couldn't put a goatee on Magic (noticed he has it this year) or make Ainge's hair lighter. Also wondering if each player (legends mainly) will have their own signature free throw style or if I will have to modify that as well. Like Parish, McHale, Bird (had to modify all of them).

Overall: Very impressed with what I've seen thus far. Looks like a definite upgrade to 2k11. Can't wait to play with the legends teams.

Loved the intro and all those phrases like "They were 19-11 against Western teams last season", but it's also a big flaw in my opinion. They are not "dynamic" commentary sentences and thus after a season in association the commentators won't be talking as much. I wish they made "They were x-y against z teams last season", where x,y and z are separately recorded numbers and teams.

Looks like ALL the players faces have been redone and not just the star players.
