Check out the latest NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #7, where Producer Erick Boenisch, talks about the new Create a Legend mode and gives up some player ratings for Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
When he was younger he was above average, but wasn't up there with the vince carters, Lebron james, etc..
Ur kidding right?
What exactly makes Lebron a great dunker? I have yet to see any variety in his dunks. What makes him special is how powerful his dunks are. Thats not enough to say he's a better dunker than kobe.
Kobe has been playing for so long that people forget how he played when he was in his prime.
There is no way you can tell me that Lebron is a better dunker. Equal at the very least but better? Hell nah.
We're getting a post game insight tomorrow. I'll be looking forward to reading that one. As for this mode, I'm not feeling too hot about it, but of course, I don't want to spoil the fun for those who are.
Cant Wait for the Post Insight Favorite part of the game!!
I don't know about you guys but I'm hyped for this.
I never really liked MyPlayer that much because creating a 5'9 PG in a PG dominated league isn't fun for me. Nor is creating myself+ 6 inches. I much rather go through the mode as a rookie that was drafted and see if I can make them live up past the hype and turn them into a superstar.
Same here. Since I essentially do that anyway by playing Player Lock with my association.
I just hope this mode isn't as easy as My Player. I don't want to be controlling an undrafted rookie and get the starting nod over Westbrook during week 3 of the season
Jesus christ, it's my opinion, i should be able to express it freely, Lebron is one of the best dunkers the NBA has ever seen
And no, Kobe is only a 1x slam dunk champion, year 1997
Of course you should. Doesn't necessarily mean it's accurate though. Kobe was definitely not just an "above average" dunker.
LeBron and Vince are two of the greatest dunkers of all time imo, more so Vince. BUT that doesn't mean that Kobe wasn't a great, maybe even elite dunker himself.

The difference to me:
Kobe is able to spin more on his dunks and adjust to contact.
LeBron just flat out goes through the contact and his head seems to be above the rim almost every time (whereas I only saw like one dunk in that entire video where Kobe's head was near the rim).

I'm a huge Laker fan, i shouldn't have to educate myself, kobe wasn't a top dunker.
LeBron one of the best dunkers the NBA has ever seen? You started to watch it like 4 years ago then? He's your typical power dunker, and he got a lot of power.
And Kobe wasn't a top dunker? LMAO, are you kidding me? He had high hops and lots of creativity, he could get up there and dunk in somebody's face too.
Just to get it clear, I'm not comparing players nor starting another vs. thread, I root for OKC, I don't even care about all that.
Not much here, I'll might try this mode though.
LeBron a 98? He's the best in the game right now but damn, he must've improved a lot, his postgame, his off-ball movement, developed a consistant jumper and he's now clutch lol. No, but on the real, if a player plays just like in real life, puts the numbers that he does in reality, I don't care about the ratings that much.
