New England Patriots
Gun Ace Pair Flex-Pats Smash Stick
The New England Patriots and MVP QB Tom Brady love to get their Tight End's involved in the offense as rookies Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez combined to haul in 16 touchdown passes. On this play, the two Tight Ends will line up to the right side of the formation and run a stick concept while the backside receivers will run a hitch/corner or smash. This is a quick and easy read for Brady and is a common play used early in the game to help get the offense in a rhythm.
New York Jets
Dollar 3-2-6 Zero Blitz
The New York Jets arguably are the most aggressive defensive team in the NFL. The Jets strong play at the cornerback positions gives them the ability to blitz frequently while using zero coverage in the secondary. Dollar 3-2-6 Zero Blitz is a six man blitz scheme that employs zero coverage meaning there's no deep safety help in the secondary.
Miami Dolphins
3-4 Cross 3 Fire
The Miami Dolphins 3-4 scheme takes full advantage of the depth they have at the linebacker position. The Dolphins use a variety of stunts and blitzes with their front seven to keep opposing offenses off balance. 3-4 Cross 3 Fire calls for both inside linebackers to blitz while crossing each other's path.
Buffalo Bills
Strong Slot Bills-Bills Go's RB Cross
The Buffalo Bills were one of the few teams in the NFL to use the Pistol formation during the past season. In this Pistol set, the Bills try for a big play down the field by streaking both outside wide receivers and putting the slot receiver on a deep dig route. This route combination will force the defense to drop off to cover the deep routes, and if they do, it will allow the running backs to be open underneath on crossing routes.
