I am impressed. Looks more like wrestling finally.

It does look better then the older games in the past. they looked so funny and bounced around the ring and what got me was u could get suplexed or body slammed right by the ropes but not even hit the ropes the guy drops straight down. and it got way to easy to eliminate guys in the royal rumble. i wish they would have alil more realness to trying to throw a guy over the top. maybe compare the 2 wrestlers health and power etc etc stamina, kinda like trying to make someone tap out, the worse they are the faster they tap

That was an awesome way to end the match. I love how the CPU can kick out of finishers now.

Add me to the "Impressed" wagon as well.

I really didn't think that WWE 12 would look that much better gameplay wise from the past few years. It's like a lot of developers do. They say it's going to be better, but it's only a little bit. This looks substantially better.

I look forward to this game coming out and seeing how the rest of the modes are fleshed out with the updated and semi-throwback gameplay!

Pros:

- The game looked more fluid

- The AI kicked out of a finisher

- The "five moves of doom" comeback sequence (and the fact it was reversed)

-The ending of the match

Cons:

- The game still seems easy. The guy had 3 finishers built up and was holding back. Had he have used them when he got them the match would have probably ended in 4 minutes instead of 12.

- I wish they'd of explained the super-finisher more. Is it a different animation, a different move, or the same move that does more damage. Like does Cena get more height on his AA, or Orton jump higher on his RKO's when it's super, or is it a different move altogether (like the Punt), or is it the same exact move with no difference other than the amount of damage done. Or is there a "pump up sequence/taunt" (Orton pounds the mat, you can't see me) before a super-move. It'll be interesting to see.

I think the super finisher just means that the damage that is inflicted is greater, probably less likliehood of kicking out. That's how I took it anyway.

Super finisher - you do more damage and the opponent only has 1 chance to kick out instead of 3 on normal pins or finishers.

It works beautifully with the new pinning engine.

I stopped watching WWE when I was 13, but I continued to rent the game every year. I Liked the game vid.
Off topic- Excited to play this year. I like that they are going in a different direction. I hope that they go in a different direction with their RTWM. I like having multiple stories to go through, especially the Undertaker's stories. But, I hope they expand on the stories. I like that we were able to walk around and talk/fight people, but you could only talk to people if it was story related. I have hope that it is gonna be great

The belt spins in Punk's intro.

Odd.

Other than that, it looks damn cool.

looking good, i just hope that was on Normal difficulty because that looked like Legend AI of last year's game (minus the kick outs lol)

# 11 statum71 @ 08/14/11 04:33 PM
Doesn't really look like Punk

Just noticed this title match was on Raw, so that might mean we don't have to wait until PPVs to defend titles.

Haven't got a WWE game since like '05 or so and wow that looked great, loved the ending.

This was an impressive video. I have moved away from watching wrestling the past few years, I still check it out every once in a while. My biggest gripe with these games has been the career/story/Road to Wrestle Mania mode. It has always disappointed me. This game is on my radar, and if that mode is much improved over the last time I played the game Raw vs Smackdown 08 or 09 then I may pick this game up.

After watching the video a couple more times I still like it a lot but a couple issues jump out at me. Whats with all the front face locks? Also when a punch is blocked it seems like they just stand there for ever before something happens.

For the most part the gameplay flowed like a real match, but there were times when there were some awkward clunky animations.

These are really minor gripes. They have a lot of time to make it smoother. I'm sure that's what is going on now in the part of development.

I finally watched this video today...

I am very impressed. It's the best I've seen from a WWE video game in a long time.

If the AI is even remotely smart, this game could be amazing

We saw some of that, they said it was all being fixed. Just remember, we're still 3 months out from release. The most recent build we played had a lot of that fixed from what you're seeing here.

Otherwise it did look decent. Didn't seem overly fast as the early footage did.
The fact that it was a small package, I'm not really concerned with the ending..

If it was a regular pin after a clothesline then I would have a gripe with that lol..A small package or grab of the tights pin ftw is realistic wwe in that outcome.

I would like to know how adrenaline works this year, is it just stamina renamed or does it have different effects..Also is there a slider for it?

While not being able to run much, I sure hope the AI stay down a lil longer.

What ever happen to double knock outs?

Sounds good man. Even if that stuff wasn't fixed, its still the best looking wwe game since HCTP.

The flow and pacing certainly looks better all around, that's for sure. All I hope for is some logical match structures and fewer "videogame moments" to get some authenticity down. In its current state, SVR feels like it doesn't know whether to be a fighting game or a sports game. Let's hope WWE 12 turns it into a wrestling game.
